Gamaliel’s Counsel

Then stood there up one in the council, a Pharisee, named Gamaliel, a doctor of the law, had in reputation among all the people, and commanded to put the apostles forth a little space; And said unto them, Ye men of Israel, take heed to yourselves what ye intend to do as touching these men. For before these days rose up Theudas, boasting himself to be somebody; to whom a number of men, about four hundred, joined themselves: who was slain; and all, as many as obeyed him, were scattered, and brought to nought. After this man rose up Judas of Galilee in the days of the taxing, and drew away much people after him: he also perished; and all, even as many as obeyed him, were dispersed. And now I say unto you, Refrain from these men, and let them alone: for if this counsel or this work be of men, it will come to nought: But if it be of God, ye cannot overthrow it; lest haply ye be found even to fight against God.

(Acts 5:34-39) KJV

I’m celebrating a lot of things, not just coming to the end of another month of the “Why Did God Create Creation?” epic year-long blog. We only have September and October to go. I am also celebrating the accomplishments to date of the year 2018, which began with me finding myself out of work, courtesy of the kind folk at Wake Forest University.

Thank you. You did me a big favor. I would never have quit, but I really didn’t need to spend any more time with you so, thanks.

Gamaliel’s Counsel is a predictive testable hypothesis for the existence of God which uses the results, or fruit, of an endeavor as a way to judge whether or not God is the cause for the success of said endeavor. Gamaliel cautioned his peers in the Jewish religious leadership about Christianity. If it’s of man, he said, it’ll fail. If it’s of God, then fighting it is fighting against God.

– Gamaliel’s Counsel, definition

This summer I became 100% debt free. Thanks to Dave Ramsey for planting that little seed in my mind. I just started a business this month, Matty’s Paradigm LLC. I floated it with $5,000 cash and got myself set up to begin paid promotions on social media sites to drive traffic to here. This is going to generate advertising revenue, courtesy of WordAds. This is the plan. I planned it. God has allowed the plan to proceed, since I just placed my first paid promotions on Instagram last night. I will let you know the result.

Given the progress to date, let’s recap on where we were when I got fired on December 11, 2017.

The side-by-side screenshot to the left shows that 8 days after I got fired I was neck and neck with Wake Forest University in terms of Twitter followers. We were both at 28,500 followers.

I’m Stupid, Obviously

People look at my blog and my Twitter feed and call me stupid. It’s ironic because, by the grace of God, what I have learned from the Bible and science and gone on to write about is anything but stupid. But even so, let’s just say that I’m stupid, right, like everyone says.

It would appear that I have also figured out Twitter as a platform for growth in social media. Where we stand today is that WFU is at 28,400 followers (an increase of 2,600) and I am at 37,400 (an increase of 11,600).

So this means that a stupid person beat WFU in Twitter follower growth by %446 over the same period of time. A stupid person beat WFU. This means that a stupid person became debt free, started a business, saw growth on social media and began paid promotions of their content. A stupid person did this.

This must be proof of God. If I’m stupid then the only way that this could have happened is if God made it happen.
