Ages in Chaos
And they shall build the old wastes, they shall raise up the former desolations, and they shall repair the waste cities, the desolations of many generations.
(Isaiah 61:4) KJV
Immanuel Velikovsky wrote “Ages in Chaos” but the ages aren’t in chaos, Earth is about 6,000 years old. Popular science (SciPop) however is always in chaos, by default.
Now don’t panic, the surface of the Earth may be about 6,000 years old but gravitational time dilation caused time to pass more quickly the further away you get from the center. As such the remote regions of the cosmos may be 13.8 billion years old, or more, at the same time. This is known as Matty’s paradox.
Velikovsky was right, sort of, but the academic world had absolutely no interest. The cover of our edition has this quote:
If Dr. Velikovsky is right, this volume is the greatest contribution to the investigation of ancient times ever written.
Dr. Robert H. Pfeiffer, Harvard University
Velikovsky used a lot of deduction but his conclusions didn’t fit the SciPop narrative, as established by peer review, so he was ostracized. He runs up against how history has been elongated to fit a timescale which is based on radiometric dating, and that was done to rationalize the theory of evolution. It’s inductive, reductive circular reasoning.
Since evolution isn’t the origin of humanity then this means that there are billions of unnecessary years to pack in, and this is why it seems as if the ages are in chaos. It’s all made possible because the peer review process is an excuse to ignore the normal rules of scientific inquiry for the purpose of constructing the narrative (SciPop). The fact that radiometric dating is pseudoscience is ample evidence of this accusation.
For the LORD is God, and he created the heavens and earth and put everything in place. He made the world to be lived in, not to be a place of empty chaos. โI am the LORD,โ he says, โand there is no other.
(Isaiah 45:18) NLT
However, when we ignore radiometric dating it’s not difficult to put the pieces of history back in a way that makes sense. Given that, however, weโre in a time that feels like chaos. Our passage today is a message of hope to a generation which hasnโt arrived yet. Isaiah, the Quarterback of history, threw a touchdown pass to a wide-receiver who hasnโt been born.
Those of us who are here today better buckle in. The wasting and desolation of our cities has only just begun. It may get a lot worse before it gets better. Right now we have COVID-19, the worse wildfires in history around the world, and mounting evidence that we’ve badly underestimated how fast climate change is going to be.
Weโre not a prophet of doom and gloom, but itโs not a stretch to say that judgement is coming upon the USA. More than anything we must keep our eyes on the Lord, and not pin our hopes on political leadership and elections. Theyโre unlikely to solve any problems.
