We can be in doubt and wondering about the way forward in God’s will. For some of us it feels like a maze. Our passage is an example of what it’s like when God answers prayer in a decisive way.

Our prayers can be answered decisively but we are not normally stricken with blindness after hearing a voice from heaven. Sometimes we have to be very sensitive to be able to understand the promptings we are given.
And he said, Go forth, and stand upon the mount before the LORD. And, behold, the LORD passed by, and a great and strong wind rent the mountains, and brake in pieces the rocks before the LORD; but the LORD was not in the wind: and after the wind an earthquake; but the LORD was not in the earthquake: And after the earthquake a fire; but the LORD was not in the fire: and after the fire a still small voice. In 1999 we wrote a little book called Matthew 2000. We thought that it would propel us to instant stardom as an evangelist preacher.
Nothing happened.
It’s a good thing because it was the wrong book at the wrong time. It made us wonder if we should be writing books at all.
It was just one of the many breadcrumbs in a trail that we’ve been following ever since.
