And God remembered Noah, and every living thing, and all the cattle that was with him in the ark: and God made a wind to pass over the earth, and the waters asswaged.
(Genesis 8:1) KJV
“Several advances and retreats of continental ice sheets, accompanied by some elevation of continents and draining of major synclines.” There used to be an ice age 10,000 years ago, but THE NARRATIVE became murky and confusing.
The thing about a world-wide flood is that the amount of water involved has the power to move around a lot of sediment and debris. It can also move around very large fragments of stone which would otherwise not move at all. These are known as erratic boulders.
When you don’t have a world-wide flood you’re still on the hook to explain these erratic boulders and this is where the theory of ice ages comes from. This is the reason why popular science (SciPop) has to invoke glacial advances and retreats. We discuss the significance of this in the post where we discuss why the Permian period was a necessary contrivance to solve the problem of equatorial glaciation.

People will instinctively mock at the mention of Immanuel Velikovsky but, sadly, he was the last halfway decent scholar of our time. He made an objective evaluation of evidence and asked a lot of hard questions.
