Scientific Christians who want to be regarded as “real scientists” are using math to resolve the Bible with the popular science narrative of godless existence (SciPop) which was designed to make the Bible look stupid.
Why would they do this? They think that they have no choice. It’s so bad that Dr. Robert Sungenis, a well known Christian scholar who’s responsible for the infamous documentary “The Principle – The unexpected evidence that Earth may be the center of the universe,” published an article explaining the math which would allow a massive sun to orbit a tiny Earth.
The Principle has a tagline which is very tongue-in-cheek. The evidence isn’t unexpected, it’s empirical and it’s visible with the naked eye. Despite having good intentions they’re trying to rationalize geocentricity in a heliocentric paradigm. Evidently they didn’t understand Newton’s Switcheroo, a simple mathematical hack which was used to make the sun more massive than the Earth in the first place. We reached out…. It didn’t go well.
They’re trying to be accepted by a scientific community which exists for the purpose of opposing them. The passage above refers to adulterers and adulteresses but it’s not about sexual immorality. It’s how the Lord regards people who turn away from his revealed truth while claiming to love and worship him.
