Answer 3

And God remembered Noah, and every living thing, and all the cattle that was with him in the ark: and God made a wind to pass over the earth, and the waters asswaged.

(Genesis 8:1) KJV
  • Why did God flood the world, kill everybody, start over again, yet forget to absolve Noah and his descendants of original sin? And if Noah’s family were cleansed of it, how did humanity get it back?

This question makes it clear that there’s confusion over what original sin is. Original sin is not a conceptual thing that can be removed, it set in motion a course of history which can’t be stopped or changed.

Answer 2

And He Himself is the propitiation for our sins, and not for ours only but also for the whole world.

(1 John 2:2) NKJV
  • If Jesus blood washed us from our sins, why are we still told that we are born in Original Sin?

Original sin is why mankind is in a fallen state. However, that’s not our fault. We’re born into this system but we’re not going to be held accountable for it. We have our own sin which is why we’re under the judgment of God.

Answer 1

For it is by God’s grace that you have been saved through faith. It is not the result of your own efforts, but God’s gift, so that no one can boast about it.

(Ephesians 2:8-9) Good News Translation
  • As we still have to ask God/Jesus for forgiveness, as we always did, why was a crucifixion necessary?

Under normal circumstances you’d think that answering this question would be simple. Here’s one way to answer it.

A Simple Answer

But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear:

(1 Peter 3:15) KJV

The gospel is simple, and the last thing that we want to do is confuse anyone. If you want to be saved there are only two things that you have to do:

Salvation

  1. Call upon the name of Jesus Christ,
    • believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead,
  2. confess your sin.

Spirits in Prison – Part 2

And the graves were opened; and many bodies of the saints which slept arose, And came out of the graves after his resurrection, and went into the holy city, and appeared unto many.

(Matthew 27:52-53) KJV

The last piece of the puzzle which we have to solve is whether or not Jesus, having descended into the lower parts of the Earth, then took the Old Testament saints, who’d been waiting in sheol, to heaven.

Abraham and Lazarus

“Then he cried and said, ‘Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus that he may dip the tip of his finger in water and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame.’ But Abraham said, ‘Son, remember that in your lifetime you received your good things, and likewise Lazarus evil things; but now he is comforted and you are tormented. And besides all this, between us and you there is a great gulf fixed, so that those who want to pass from here to you cannot, nor can those from there pass to us.’

(Luke 16:24-26) NKJV

We have spent considerable time on resolving all of the issues which pertain to the parable of Abraham and Lazarus. They aren’t in heaven, they’re in sheol. This isn’t metaphorical, it’s accurate geology.

The Witch of Endor

Now Samuel had died, and all Israel had lamented for him and buried him in Ramah, in his own city. And Saul had put the mediums and the spiritists out of the land.

Then the woman said, “Whom shall I bring up for you?” And he said, “Bring up Samuel for me.”

And the king said to her, “Do not be afraid. What did you see?” And the woman said to Saul, “I saw a spirit ascending out of the earth.”

And Samuel said to Saul, Why hast thou disquieted me, to bring me up?

(1 Samuel 28:3, 11, 13, 15) KJV

You may be skeptical of the idea that there’s an underworld realm of the dead deep in the interior of the Earth, or that the souls of the Old Testament saints had to wait there for the messiah. That’s understandable.

The Days Before Noah

Thus hath the Lord GOD shewed unto me: and, behold, the Lord GOD called to contend by fire, and it devoured the great deep, and did eat up a part.

(Amos 7:4) KJV

The longsuffering of God waited in the days before Noah. Noah’s flood saw the waters of the deep (tehom), being boiled out from under the Earth creating the open space that Jesus referred to as the great gulf (sheol).

Rebellious Angels

And the angels who did not keep their proper domain, but left their own abode, He has reserved in everlasting chains under darkness for the judgment of the great day;

(Jude 1:6) NKJV

The angels who didn’t keep their former domain are the rebellious angels who were cast out of heaven with Satan. We’ve made the case that the everlasting chains which they were bound by are Mosaic gravity.
