Science and the New Ignorance

Today is a victory because our challenge, for anyone to prove heliocentricity, still stands (since December 25, 2015). At first a lot of people sent us links to articles which supposedly proved heliocentricity. They didn’t.

When They Saw the Star

Then Herod, when he had privily called the wise men, inquired of them diligently what time the star appeared. And he sent them to Bethlehem, and said, Go and search diligently for the young child; and when ye have found him, bring me word again, that I may come and worship him also. When they had heard the king, they departed; and, lo, the star, which they saw in the east, went before them, till it came and stood over where the young child was. Do you have a star or an angel on the top of your Christmas tree? Either one is appropriate. In keeping with the narrative of the story, it’s fitting to follow the star to the place where you give your gifts.

He Who Removes Mountains

He is wise in heart and mighty in strength —who has hardened himself against him, and succeeded?— he who removes mountains, and they know it not, when he overturns them in his anger, who shakes the earth out of its place, and its pillars tremble; who commands the sun, and it does not rise; who seals up the stars; who alone stretched out the heavens and trampled the waves of the sea; who made the Bear and Orion, the Pleiades and the chambers of the south; who does great things beyond searching out, and marvelous things beyond number.

This is Part of Job’s response to Bildad. He’s talking about tectonic upheaval. He was contemporaneous with Abraham, so only 200 or so years have passed since the tectonic breakup of Pangaea.
