The description of the Pennsylvanian we have is an example of how to use inductive rationalization to make the remains of an ecosystem sound like it’s evidence for a period of time.

Spread of Amphibians

Who say to the seers, “Do not see,” And to the prophets, “Do not prophesy to us right things; Speak to us smooth things, prophesy deceits.
(Isaiah 30:10) NKJV

Amphibians were buried in a swamp. Does that mean that amphibians were spreading? No, it doesn’t, it means that amphibians lived in a swamp that got buried.

If we examine the evidence we can’t avoid the obvious conclusion that Mississippian sediments are the remains of an ecosystem which was buried in a flood.
