December 26th

And they that be wise shall shine as the brightness of the firmament; and they that turn many to righteousness as the stars for ever and ever. (Daniel 12:3)

The Bright and Morning Star

I Jesus have sent mine angel to testify unto you these things in the churches. I am the root and the offspring of David, and the bright and morning star.

(Revelation 22:16) KJV

It’s the season of Christmas and it’s satisfying to re-read the scriptures that describe the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ. Then we ponder: are phenomena like the star of Bethlehem congruent with Matty’s Paradigm?

When They Saw the Star

Then Herod, when he had privily called the wise men, inquired of them diligently what time the star appeared. And he sent them to Bethlehem, and said, Go and search diligently for the young child; and when ye have found him, bring me word again, that I may come and worship him also. When they had heard the king, they departed; and, lo, the star, which they saw in the east, went before them, till it came and stood over where the young child was. When they saw the star, they rejoiced with exceeding great joy. And when they were come into the house, they saw the young child with Mary his mother, and fell down, and worshiped him: and when they had opened their treasures, they presented unto him gifts; gold, and frankincense, and myrrh. And being warned of God in a dream that they should not return to Herod, they departed into their own country another way.

(Matthew 2:7-12) KJV

Do you have a star or an angel on the top of your Christmas tree? Either one is appropriate. In keeping with the narrative of the story, it’s fitting to follow the star to the place where you give your gifts.

Upon Your Bed

{To the chief Musician on Neginoth, A Psalm of David.} Hear me when I call, O God of my righteousness: thou hast enlarged me when I was in distress; have mercy upon me, and hear my prayer. O ye sons of men, how long will ye turn my glory into shame? how long will ye love vanity, and seek after leasing? Selah. But know that the LORD hath set apart him that is godly for himself: the LORD will hear when I call unto him. Stand in awe, and sin not: commune with your own heart upon your bed, and be still. Selah. Offer the sacrifices of righteousness, and put your trust in the LORD. There be many that say, Who will shew us any good? LORD, lift thou up the light of thy countenance upon us. Thou hast put gladness in my heart, more than in the time that their corn and their wine increased. I will both lay me down in peace, and sleep: for thou, LORD, only makest me dwell in safety.

(Psalms 4:1-8) KJV

Christmas is over. Once again the anticipation and excitement, planning and preparation, that builds in intensity from Thanksgiving and which bursts upon us in a flurry of excitement is over. The year is winding down

Peace that Passes all Understanding

Rejoice in the Lord alway: and again I say, Rejoice. Let your moderation be known unto all men. The Lord is at hand. Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

(Philippians 4:4-7) KJV

We can find ourselves in turmoil at this time of year with the frantic running around that needs to be done. The rest of the world is also frantically running around at the same time.

Glorifying and Praising God

Why the Gay Christmas Movie ‘A Holiday I Do’ Could Make TV History

And they came with haste, and found Mary, and Joseph, and the babe lying in a manger. And when they had seen it, they made known abroad the saying which was told them concerning this child. And all they that heard it wondered at those things which were told them by the shepherds. But Mary kept all these things, and pondered them in her heart. And the shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all the things that they had heard and seen, as it was told unto them.

(Luke 2:16-20) KJV

God has revealed a way for us to understand science which shows that it’s in perfect harmony with the Bible. This is possible because we made a choice to believe that, no matter what, the Bible is always right.
