The parallels between light and good vs. darkness and evil are stated throughout scripture. Isaiah laments people who try to make you believe that good is evil and evil is good, and who put darkness for light.

The phrase “the father of lights,” is sweet and poetic. It’s spiritually accurate in identifying two roles of God the Father. It’s also accurate physics.

(Psalms 104:1-2) Good News Translation
O Lord, my God, how great you are!
You are clothed with majesty and glory;
you cover yourself with light.
You have spread out the heavens like a tent
and built your home on the waters above.
In the META narrative the separation of light and darkness isn’t a cycle from day to night. It’s the prevailing theme of the Bible but this separation has to be physical and permanent.
