Living Waters
Then shall the LORD go forth, and fight against those nations, as when he fought in the day of battle. And his feet shall stand in that day upon the mount of Olives, which is before Jerusalem on the east, and the mount of Olives shall cleave in the midst thereof toward the east and toward the west, and there shall be a very great valley; and half of the mountain shall remove toward the north, and half of it toward the south. And ye shall flee to the valley of the mountains; for the valley of the mountains shall reach unto Azal: yea, ye shall flee, like as ye fled from before the earthquake in the days of Uzziah king of Judah: and the LORD my God shall come, and all the saints with thee.
And it shall come to pass in that day, that the light shall not be clear, nor dark: But it shall be one day which shall be known to the LORD, not day, nor night: but it shall come to pass, that at evening time it shall be light.
And it shall be in that day, that living waters shall go out from Jerusalem; half of them toward the former sea, and half of them toward the hinder sea: in summer and in winter shall it be.
And the LORD shall be king over all the earth: in that day shall there be one LORD, and his name one.
(Zechariah 14:3-9) KJV
The condition of the Earth at the time of the 7th trumpet is degraded. It’s not able to support a hydrological system as described in Ezekiel 47. Something dramatic has to happen in order for the Earth to begin to heal again.
Our passage today gives us the context of the battle of Armageddon and the earthquake which follows as part of blowing of the 7th trumpet. It establishes that at the time of the Millennial Kingdom, living waters will go out from Jerusalem.
In order to understand this we have to look at the prophecy of Ezekiel. Ezekiel gives an extensive and detailed account of his vision of the temple in Jerusalem at the time of the Millennial Kingdom. One of the notable features occurs in chapter 47 where Ezekiel describes waters which issue from under the threshold of the house of the Lord. The waters are only enough to cover his ankles at first, but as he passes along the bank the river gets wider and deeper until it becomes too big to swim across (Ezekiel 47:1-12).
We’re told that the water flows East through the valley which was created when the Mount of Olives split open, and that the purpose of the river is to heal the waters of the sea.
Then said he unto me, These waters issue out toward the east country, and go down into the desert, and go into the sea: which being brought forth into the sea, the waters shall be healed. And it shall come to pass, that every thing that liveth, which moveth, whithersoever the rivers shall come, shall live: and there shall be a very great multitude of fish, because these waters shall come thither: for they shall be healed; and every thing shall live whither the river cometh.
(Ezekiel 47:8-9) KJV
Clearly, healing the waters of the world’s oceans, rivers and lakes is necessary because of how polluted they became during human rule and the tribulation. The question is: where does the water come from that up wells at Jerusalem? and where’s it being cycled and filtered so that it can refresh the water of the sea? Whatever model we come up with of the Earth at the time of the Millennial Kingdom has to include a hydrological system capable of restoring all of the world’s water supply.
Fortunately we’re not without considerable clues from scripture and from the spherical hollow earth model (SHEM) which we’ve deduced. The condition of the Earth at the end of the 3rd day was a mountain which filled the whole Earth, Eden was at the summit, and 4 rivers issued from Eden which watered the surface of the whole Earth before returning to the great deep. The waters of the great deep up welled at Eden forming a hydrological cycle.

Since Jerusalem is going to be the summit of a mountain which fills the whole Earth then we ought to consider something along these lines, given that it’s, to some extent, a return to the original condition of the Earth.
