Famine
Behold, there come seven years of great plenty throughout all the land of Egypt: And there shall arise after them seven years of famine; and all the plenty shall be forgotten in the land of Egypt; and the famine shall consume the land; And the plenty shall not be known in the land by reason of that famine following; for it shall be very grievous.
(Genesis 41:29-31) KJV
God used famines in the lives of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob to test their faith. It indicates that the climate was unstable, or cyclical, with periods of warming and cooling.
The expansion of hell caused the waters of the great deep to boil, burst out of the fountains of the great deep, and flood the Earth. After the flood a wind evaporated the water which caused rapid cooling and the formation of equatorial and polar ice.
The expansion of hell caused global warming and the retreat of this polar and equatorial ice. The warmer conditions caused an increase in evaporation from the oceans, which lead to increased precipitation and an increase in polar ice. This gives us a mechanism for the retreat and advance of the continental ice sheets.
The equatorial ice is long gone, the polar ice is nearly gone. If melting ice cooled the Earth while hell continued to expand, what happens when there’s no ice left?
