They are Without Excuse

For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness; Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath shewed it unto them. For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse: Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened. Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools, And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things.

(Romans 1:18-23) KJV

Creationists make the error of thinking that the science vs. faith debate is centered around evolution. This is an error for 2 reasons:

  1. science requires faith,
  2. the process of evolution fits into the Biblical young-earth narrative.

The battle line should be drawn on the fundamental physics of the universe, with the understanding that whether you come from a scientific or a Biblical background, we all have faith in something.

We all have the same evidence. Our choice of paradigm determines what we think it’s evidence of.

Matty’s Razor

What we refer to as popular science (SciPop) has been built on layers and layers of the denial of truth. Fortunately for SciPop today’s young scientists are blissfully unaware of this. They’ve been told that science is truth, and therefore there’s nothing to worry about.

We would recommend that all science teachers should keep a millstone handy.
