A stone: אֶ֖בֶן – eben

  1. a stone, generally; the common stone of the field; a stone which may be thrown with the hand; hail stones; shining stones; obdurate heart.
  2. precious stone, gem.
  3. rock, Ge. 49:24
  4. weight, diverse weights; weights of (i.e. carried in) the bag.
  5. plummet, Is. 34:11 stones of desolations; i.e. minutely measured off for desolation.
  6. pr. names; a stone not far from Jerusalem 1 Ki. 1:9, a stone set up by Samuel.
