The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.
(2 Peter 3:9) KJV
Here’s something we hear a lot, the indignant cry:
“I’m not going to believe in a god who would torture people who don’t love him!”
– Understandable but misguided opinion
When we show by deductive reasoning a logical chain of causal events which lead to the beginning of hell and its use as temporary storage of the souls of the lost, we should see that the fact that unrepentant sinners go to hell isn’t because God’s being mean. Hell is the default outcome for all of creation. Creation has a reason and a purpose which combine to give us the answer to life, the universe and everything.
The reason for creation is the manifestation of sentient life with free will.
– The Reason for Creation
The purpose of creation is to bring about the permanent physical separation of light from darkness, day from night, good from evil.
– The Purpose of Creation
Why did God create the universe?
The answer to the ultimate question of life, the universe and everything:God created the universe so that sentient beings with free will could make a choice between light or darkness, life or death.
– The Answer to Life, the Universe and Everything
Hell is the default outcome. The entire world is going to be destroyed. We’re witnessing it. God has offered us a ticket off this doomed rock, to be with him for eternity in a new heaven. All we have to do is believe in Jesus Christ. It’s so simple.

How do we prove that nuclear decay has always been constant? We can’t.
