This is a faithful saying, and these things I want you to affirm constantly, that those who have believed in God should be careful to maintain good works. These things are good and profitable to men. But avoid foolish disputes, genealogies, contentions, and strivings about the law; for they are unprofitable and useless.(Titus 3:8-9) NKJV
There’s a lot of contention among Christians. We think that our take on a doctrine is right, and anyone who doesn’t agree is wrong. It spills out into social media and it makes us all look bad.
We’ve been told to avoid public disputes because all it does is let unbelievers feel affirmed about their dismissal of religion in general and Christianity in particular. We (that’s me and the Holy spirit) are the cause of a lot of contention because we’re making bold claims which are counter to the established order of both popular science (SciPop) and mainstream Christianity. Neither SciPop nor Christianity have hell at the center of the Earth or heaven on the edge of space. We went to extreme measures to put hell back into the center of the Earth, and heaven back on the edge of space, by developing a theory of gravitation.
We all have the same evidence. Our choice of paradigm determines what we think it’s evidence of.– Matty’s Razor
Our message to you, Christian, is that you don’t have to believe a word we say. If you believe in Jesus Christ then you already have everything you need. There’s no reason for us to argue about anything. Our mission, all of us, is to find a way to reach billions of lost souls.
Imagine that the United States sent their military might into action to avert a humanitarian catastrophe. They sent in the Marines. Then they sent in the Army. Now imagine that the Marines were really upset that the Army showed up, and the Army was really upset that the Marines got to go first, so they fought each other. The Marines and the Army destroyed one other and the humanitarian catastrophe was much worse than expected.
That’s why Christians don’t need to be fighting one another. You, Christian, may not agree with us. So what? Go on your way and carry out your mission. We’ll carry out our mission. That way all of our missions will be accomplished.
We need your financial help but Mattymatica isn’t a religious organization, charity or new age cult.
