Rise of Higher Insects and Birds

“Rise of higher insects and birds” is an example of Paleodoublespeak. Jurassic sediment contains the preserved remains of dead insects and birds. That’s not evidence of their rise. It’s evidence of their extinction.

The concept of “higher insects” is a reference to the idea that there are primitive and advanced insects. The problem with this is that the designation of what’s primitive vs. advanced has been made after accepting the premise of biological evolution. It’s another little microcosm of circular reasoning which has been used as a way to assign fossils to periods of time based on where they happen to fall in the evolution narrative.
