Declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times the things that are not yet done, saying, My counsel shall stand, and I will do all my pleasure:
(Isaiah 46:10) KJV
The stratigraphic column, Cambrian through Quaternary, was deposited in Noah’s flood, a world-wide event. Arbitrary time hack (ATH) is the technical term for the Eras, Periods and Epochs of the geological timescale.
In general an Era represents a group of sediments deposited during one of the three stages of the flood. Periods are ecosystems which were destroyed, transported various distances, and then buried. Epochs are habitats which in some cases were buried in place.
They we all buried during the same year-long event of Noah’s flood and each bed of sediment preserves the remains of the animals and plants which were at a specific location when the flood took place. The difference between beds of sediment is spatial.
In the popular science narrative of godless existence (SciPop) it’s necessary to invoke a timescale of billions of years in order to accommodate biological evolution. This is the reason why the Eras, Periods and Epochs have been spaced out in time, not space. The geological timescale is therefore a collection of space-time anomalies which have been arranged in such a way as to make it seem to support the narrative of biological evolution.
Evolution as a process is real, though, and it can be easily incorporated into the Biblical narrative as the process of genetic decay which began at the fall of man in Genesis 3. For this reason it’s appropriate to refer to evolution as devolution.
Devolution is the process of genetic change over time by which the animal kinds saved on Noah’s ark gave rise to the current distribution of biodiversity.
