Always be Ready

But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts, and always be ready to give a defense to everyone who asks you a reason for the hope that is in you, with meekness and fear;

(1 Peter 3:15) NKJV

Today is one of those days when it is necessary to pause and reflect on God’s goodness and grace. It’s Sunday, and so the day is given over to the Lord because the whole aim of the day to be to complete two church services.

Fish Or Whale?

Now the LORD had prepared a great fish to swallow up Jonah. And Jonah was in the belly of the fish three days and three nights.

(Jonah 1:17) KJV

For as Jonas was three days and three nights in the whale’s belly; so shall the Son of man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth,

(Matthew 12:40) KJV

In spherogenetic systematics Fish is a higher rank than Whale. The fish of the sea is everything created in the hydrosphere. Whale is a subcategory. The thing that swallowed Jonah was both a fish and a whale.

George Muller of Bristol

and his witness to a prayer-hearing God

by Arthur T. Pierson (1899)

I, who am an elder myself, appeal to the church elders among you. I am a witness of Christ’s sufferings, and I will share in the glory that will be revealed. I appeal to you to be shepherds of the flock that God gave you and to take care of it willingly, as God wants you to, and not unwillingly. Do your work, not for mere pay, but from a real desire to serve.

(1 Peter 5:1-2) Good News Translation

Here then we have a threefold witness to the secret of true prosperity and unmingled blessing: devout meditation and reflection upon the Scriptures, which are at once a book of law, a river of life, and a mirror of self—fitted to convey the will of God, the life of God, and the transforming power of God.

Crowdfire

I started my blog Biblio’s Blood in October 2015. I started on tumblr, for some reason thinking that it would be a way to connect with people. It wasn’t. As I searched around trying different things on social media I began to connect with a lot of folk on Twitter. While I couldn’t exactly describe it as enthusiastic and supportive, it brought up enough questions about the science in Biblio’s Blood that I had to start writing Matty’s Paradigm.

As fun as this was – to be caught up in a swirl of engagement – I immediately encountered a time constraint. Not to mention the fact that I was a total noob and had no idea what I was doing. I knew I needed help. How could I balance the need to stay engaged with social media, promote my work and have time to continue to produce new content?

When I searched the Apple Store for an App that would be able to meet my need I have to say that Crowdfire stood out immediately. I quickly understood it to be a professional quality product which has been put together, and is supported by, some of the brightest minds out there. I tried it.

I saw results right away and I enjoyed using it so much that when I was given the chance to upgrade to the Crowdfire beta and have daily prescriptions I was hesitant to change. Why fix something that’s not broke? But the idea of a set of daily prescriptions that were simple to follow and would guarantee growth was so tempting I couldn’t resist. I switched to the Crowdfire beta and I have not looked back.

I am currently using Crowdfire to grow 5 Twitter accounts and 2 Instagram accounts. Since getting started around the beginning of 2016, I have seen a very pleasing rate of growth in all areas. Here is where I stand at the present time:

Twitter

Instagram

  • mtthw.lawrence – 3,622 followers
  • bibliosblood – 1,196 followers

My daily routine is such that I have time allocated for my Crowdfire prescriptions. It is a simple way to ensure a steady rate of growth across social media. If you are just getting started or are in for the long haul, there is nothing better!

I currently have the Earth plan, and the choice to renew my subscription was one of the easiest decisions I have ever made.

We Love Our Trolls

Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ’s sake: for when I am weak, then am I strong.

(2 Corinthians 12:10) KJV

We love Twitter Trolls. They’re the unwitting accomplices to our evangelistic ministry.

They think they’re achieving a high entertainment factor by showing the world what an idiot we are, but we’re not an idiot and hell is expanding.

Heaps upon Heaps

And when he came unto Lehi, the Philistines shouted against him: and the Spirit of the LORD came mightily upon him, and the cords that wereupon his arms became as flax that was burnt with fire, and his bands loosed from off his hands. And he found a new jawbone of an ass, and put forth his hand, and took it, and slew a thousand men therewith.
And Samson said, With the jawbone of an ass, heaps upon heaps, with the jaw of an ass have I slain a thousand men.

( Judges 15:14-16 )

This is something that I have wanted to write about for a very long time. I first began to understand this call when I was in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia in 2013. I found my way there as part of a mission team when I was seeking guidance from the Lord about what it was that I was supposed to be doing in His service.

I remember a preacher at Beza International Church proclaim: “there is a book in you that no one else can write.” I knew what book had to be writen. From there our mission team travelled north to Kombolcha where we spent a week with the children and staff of a carepoint. On the journey there we stopped at a gorge in the mountains which is the natural habitat of the Orangutan. Our hosts told us about this thing they do where folk take a sheet of paper and write what it is they intend to do, or what they see for the future. The idea being that after a set period of time we would read the letter again and see what progress we have made.

The letter I wrote to myself was an attempt to confirm in my mind that I had just been given spiritual guidance to finish my novel, Biblio’s Blood. I wasn’t convinced and I knew it. I knew that the real book that God had called me to write was Matty’s Paradigm.

I was unsettled in my spirit and really needed to talk through the fact that my call seemed very clear, but I was uncertain of what the call was. On the return journey from Kombolcha to Addis Ababa I sat on the back row of the bus. Our Pastor, Rob, got on after me and as he looked around for a place to sit he either had a sense that I needed to talk, or he saw a pleading look in my face and he came to sit with me at the back. Over the course of the 10 hour journey I poured out my heart to him and explained that it was necessary to write a book that was going to upset everybody.

Literally everybody. It would require making a frontal assault on science, but there would be collateral damage: mainstream theology. It was going to be like Samson and his jawbone. Indiscriminate. Rob listened and was very supportive, though he didn’t offer any advice or a judgement, for which I have always been grateful. It took another 2 years after that before I really got going with this work.

I seriously doubt that this book is going to make anybody happy. Yet I no longer doubt that it has to exist. I am so thankful that, unlike Samson, my calling isn’t to slaughter people, just ideas.

Now is Made Manifest

Now to him that is of power to stablish you according to my gospel, and the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery, which was kept secret since the world began, But now is made manifest, and by the scriptures of the prophets, according to the commandment of the everlasting God, made known to all nations for the obedience of faith: To God only wise, be glory through Jesus Christ for ever. Amen. {Written to the Romans from Corinthus, and sent by Phebe servant of the church at Cenchrea.

( Romans 16:25-27 )

In October last year (2017) I visited my family in England. At that time I was working full time at a University. I was 2 years into the Matty’s Paradigm adventure. I was struggling to balance the needs of family, work, a spiritual life which was a random mix of prayer and Bible study (but no Bible reading), writing and social media marketing.

Social media marketing was winning out over the other aspects of life. The main content of Matty’s Paradigm had been worked out. I was wondering: what happens next?

The other thing that happened in October last year was that I committed to pray three times a day for three weeks, as Daniel had done when he petitioned the Lord for understanding of when the exiles would return to Jerusalem. It was during this time of prayer that I was given the breakthrough with the nature of gravity. The significance of this is discussed in the devotional for the month of February.

Then said he unto me, Fear not, Daniel: for from the first day that thou didst set thine heart to understand, and to chasten thyself before thy God, thy words were heard, and I am come for thy words. But the prince of the kingdom of Persia withstood me one and twenty days: but, lo, Michael, one of the chief princes, came to help me; and I remained there with the kings of Persia.

( Daniel 10:12-13 )

It was given to me through prayer to write a year-long daily devotional which would systematically pick through the process of creation, the history of the world and future prophecy. I sketched out an outline and, since it was October, I decided to start the work on the first of November. The plan was to post an article every day for a year and finish the detailed exposition of Matty’s Paradigm. We are about to get to the end of April which means that we are 6 months into this work.

I am once again visiting family in England with an opportunity to reflect on the progress so far. As I have discussed in recent days the month of April has been a challenge because we are dealing with one of the strongholds of science, astronomy, but we have pulled it down. Its destruction has been so complete that atheism has imploded in response. Atheists on Twitter are reduced to appealing to the authority of scripture, since the rug of science has been pulled out from under them.

At the 6 month point of the year long devotional it is worth asking the question:

Is Matty’s Paradigm established?

But the God of all grace, who hath called us unto his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that ye have suffered a while, make you perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle you.

( 1 Peter 5:10 )

My circumstances changed on December and I am now self-employed. I had the pleasant experience of stating that my profession is a writer when I filled out an immigration form to enter the UK. At this time I am also reading a biography of George Muller of Bristol. As I read and study his life I find myself in a position to be able to fix some of the imbalances of my life. Bible reading, as distinct from Bible study, is now a priority. My temporal physical needs are provided for without any of the worry and stress of my former employed life. Am I being established?

Now our Lord Jesus Christ himself, and God, even our Father, which hath loved us, and hath given us everlasting consolation and good hope through grace, Comfort your hearts, and stablish you in every good word and work.

( 2 Thessalonians 2:16-17 )

If I am not mistaken, God is doing a work here. On one hand God is manifesting the physics of creation, on the other hand God is manifesting to me that I can be established.

Praise be to God!

Great Was the Fall of It

Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock: And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock. And every one that heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, which built his house upon the sand: And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell: and great was the fall of it.

(Matthew 7:24-27) KJV

This month has been a challenging look at the 4th day of creation, because it involves pulling down a stronghold of science: theoretical physics. We’ve known that we would have to do this for many years but we avoided it for as long as possible.

Celestial Navigation

Which maketh Arcturus, Orion, and Pleiades, and the chambers of the south.

(Job 9:9) KJV

The Bible doesn’t describe a heliocentric system, but that’s okay because we don’t observe heliocentricity. It’s a theoretical interpretation of the empirical geocentrospheric reality: it’s imaginary.
