And the graves were opened; and many bodies of the saints which slept arose, And came out of the graves after his resurrection, and went into the holy city, and appeared unto many.

The last piece of the puzzle which we have to solve is whether or not Jesus, having descended into the lower parts of the Earth, then took the Old Testament saints, who’d been waiting in sheol, to heaven.

He Also Descended

The Nether Parts of the Earth

To whom art thou thus like in glory and in greatness among the trees of Eden? yet shalt thou be brought down with the trees of Eden unto the nether parts of the earth: thou shalt lie in the midst of the uncircumcised with them that be slain by the sword. The Lower Parts of the Earth

(Now that he ascended, what is it but that he also descended first into the lower parts of the earth? He that descended is the same also that ascended up far above all heavens, that he might fill all things.)

After the crucifixion Jesus descended into the lower parts of the Earth. He went there to gather the souls of the Old Testament saints who were awaiting his coming.
