A spirit from God, literally breath, gives life to our body by energizing metabolism through the action of the hemoglobin molecule. We can deduce that blood is the seat of the spirit, not the soul.

Popular science (SciPop) doesn’t think that the soul exists. However, everyone in the Bible believes that they have a soul. Science can’t detect the soul. Does that mean it doesn’t exist? Using the logic “if science can’t detect it then it doesn’t exist,” then gravitational waves didn’t exist before September 2015.

And whatsoever man there be of the children of Israel, or of the strangers that sojourn among you, which hunteth and catcheth any beast or fowl that may be eaten; he shall even pour out the blood thereof, and cover it with dust. For it is the life of all flesh; the blood of it is for the life thereof: therefore I said unto the children of Israel, Ye shall eat the blood of no manner of flesh: for the life of all flesh is the blood thereof: whosoever eateth it shall be cut off.

We are forbidden to eat blood because the blood is the life of a creature. Is this equivalent to the soul? If I can “pour out my soul,” does it mean that the soul inhabits the blood?
“Behold, Behemoth,

and his power in the muscles of his belly.
He makes his tail stiff like a cedar;
