Foundation vs. Structure

According to the grace of God which is given unto me, as a wise masterbuilder, I have laid the foundation, and another buildeth thereon. But let every man take heed how he buildeth thereupon. For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ.

(1 Corinthians 3:10-11) KJV

Here’s an interesting question for you about church doctrine: what’s the Church’s foundation, and what’s the structure?

Elijah

And they asked him, “Why do the scribes say that first Elijah must come?” And he said to them, “Elijah does come first to restore all things. And how is it written of the Son of Man that he should suffer many things and be treated with contempt? But I tell you that Elijah has come, and they did to him whatever they pleased, as it is written of him.”

(Mark 9:11-13) ESV

For all the Prophets and the Law prophesied until John, and if you are willing to accept it, he is Elijah who is to come. He who has ears to hear, let him hear.

(Matthew 11:13-15) ESV

Christianity has been absently meandering alongside the wide road to destruction as an accomplice to popular science (SciPop) for generations. So why are we trying to wake these people up? Why now?

It Could Only be Love

And it came to pass, that the beggar died, and was carried by the angels into Abraham’s bosom: the rich man also died, and was buried; And in hell he lift up his eyes, being in torments, and seeth Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom.

Then he said, I pray thee therefore, father, that thou wouldest send him to my father’s house: For I have five brethren; that he may testify unto them, lest they also come into this place of torment. Abraham saith unto him, They have Moses and the prophets; let them hear them. And he said, Nay, father Abraham: but if one went unto them from the dead, they will repent. And he said unto him, If they hear not Moses and the prophets, neither will they be persuaded, though one rose from the dead.

(Luke 16:22-23, 27-31) KJV

O Timothy! Guard what was committed to your trust, avoiding the profane and idle babblings and contradictions of what is falsely called knowledge—by professing it some have strayed concerning the faith. Frace be with you. Amen.

(1 Timothy 6:20-21) NKJV

Continuing the theme of weird things that people say on social media there’s another question which comes up from time to time which pertains to Jesus’ teaching on hell.

If hell is expanding, why isn’t the earth getting bigger?

Hell is Expanding in the New Testament

And the tongue is a fire, a world of iniquity. The tongue is so set among our members that it defiles the whole body, and sets on fire the course of nature; and it is set on fire by hell.

(James 3:6) NKJV

It may seem off the wall to claim that the expansion of hell is the cause of global warming. That’s because we’re in the third generation (X, Y and Z) who’ve been raised to think that hell’s a myth.

Hell is Expanding in the Old Testament

For a fire is kindled in My anger, And shall burn to the lowest hell; It shall consume the earth with her increase, And set on fire the foundations of the mountains.

(Deuteronomy 32:22) NKJV

Hell wasn’t part of the six days of creation, it’s a direct consequence of sin. At the fall of man in the garden of Eden God cursed the Earth. This was the beginning of nuclear decay.
