God Created Evil

I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace and create evil: I the Lord do all these things.

(Isaiah 45:7) KJV

Something that you may hear if you discuss religion with other people are questions like, Why does God allow evil to exist? It’s a really good question, but fortunately we have a really good answer.

I Am the Light of Life

Then Jesus spoke to them again, saying, “I am the light of the world. He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life.”

(John 8:12) NKJV

On the 7th day God rested from his work of creating. This may have been the last time that the world could have been described as very good. It was the peace before the storm. However now there was light and darkness, good and evil, up and down.

What Fell First?

Matty's Paradigm a unified theory of everything

For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.

(2 Corinthians 5:21) NKJV

God can’t abide sin, he can’t look on it. Yet in order for free will to be a possibility, sin has to be possible. How does a perfectly pure and righteous God create a system which allows evil to exist? He has to go against his own nature and become sin for us.

The Light of the Knowledge of the Glory of God

For it is the God who commanded light to shine out of darkness, who has shone in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.

(2 Corinthians 4:6) NKJV

Sadly there are people who’ve chosen darkness. They’re in darkness and that’s how they relate to the world. If we show them light they’re going to reject it because it’s not darkness.

The purpose of creation is to bring about the permanent physical separation of light from darkness, day from night, good from evil.

The Armour of Light

The night is far spent, the day is at hand: let us therefore cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armour of light.

(Romans 13:12) KJV

If you don’t understand SciPop well enough to know that it’s not a threat to the truth of the Bible, and try to live a Christian life without the truth of the Bible, then you have no armor of light.

A Garment of Light

Who coverest thyself with light as with a garment: who stretchest out the heavens like a curtain:

( Psalms 104:2 ) KJV

Taking Bible verses out of context is dangerous, but what if we examine the context and find that there is congruence between flowery poetic language and empirical observations of our physical reality?

Psalms 104:1-6

Bless the LORD, O my soul. O LORD my God, thou art very great; thou art clothed with honour and majesty. Who coverest thyself with light as with a garment: who stretchest out the heavens like a curtain: Who layeth the beams of his chambers in the waters: who maketh the clouds his chariot: who walketh upon the wings of the wind: Who maketh his angels spirits; his ministers a flaming fire: Who laid the foundations of the earth, that it should not be removed for ever. Thou coveredst it with the deep as with a garment: the waters stood above the mountains.

(Psalms 104:1-6) KJV

We know, it’s the Psalms, it’s just poetry, right? Here’s the thing: it can be poetry and accurate physics at the same time.

A Space Between: בֵּ֥ין – bayin

And God saw the light, that it was good: and God divided the light from the darkness.

( Genesis 1:4 ) KJV

In pondering the physics of creation we have come to understand that the earth is part of the ongoing process of the permanent physical separation of light from darkness. The process is not complete. Yet.
