But the cowardly, unbelieving, abominable, murderers, sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars shall have their part in the lake which burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death.
(Revelation 21:8) NKJV
An issue regarding the establishment of the Millennial Kingdom which we have to resolve is: What and where is the lake of fire? It may be the planet Venus.
For thus saith the LORD that created the heavens; God himself that formed the earth and made it; he hath established it, he created it not in vain, he formed it to be inhabited: I am the LORD; and there is none else.
(Isaiah 45:18) KJV
The creation of gravity caused the majority of the darkness and corruption in the universe to accumulate at the center of creation. This became the body of the Earth. The majority of light and purity accumulated in heaven.
Therefore, as through one man’s offense judgment came to all men, resulting in condemnation, even so through one Man’s righteous act the free gift came to all men, resulting in justification of life.
(Romans 5:18) NKJV
Man, Adam, bore the ultimate responsibility for what happened in the garden of Eden because he was the one who had been told not to eat the forbidden fruit. We’ve used deductive reasoning and the curses that were placed on the woman to conclude that she had been given to him to inspire and motivate him to carry out the Lord’s will.
And he shall set up an ensign for the nations, and shall assemble the outcasts of Israel, and gather together the dispersed of Judah from the four corners of the earth.
(Isaiah 11:12) KJV
The phrase “the four corners of the earth” occurs a few times in scripture but every time it’s in the context of the millennial kingdom, it’s never used in any other context.
15 For, behold, the LORD will come with fire, and with his chariots like a whirlwind, to render his anger with fury, and his rebuke with flames of fire. 16 For by fire and by his sword will the LORD plead with all flesh: and the slain of the LORD shall be many. 17 They that sanctify themselves, and purify themselves in the gardens behind one tree in the midst, eating swine’s flesh, and the abomination, and the mouse, shall be consumed together, saith the LORD. 18 For I know their works and their thoughts: it shall come, that I will gather all nations and tongues; and they shall come, and see my glory. 19 And I will set a sign among them, and I will send those that escape of them unto the nations, to Tarshish, Pul, and Lud, that draw the bow, to Tubal, and Javan, to the isles afar off, that have not heard my fame, neither have seen my glory; and they shall declare my glory among the Gentiles. 20 And they shall bring all your brethren for an offering unto the LORD out of all nations upon horses, and in chariots, and in litters, and upon mules, and upon swift beasts, to my holy mountain Jerusalem, saith the LORD, as the children of Israel bring an offering in a clean vessel into the house of the LORD. 21 And I will also take of them for priests and for Levites, saith the LORD. 22 For as the new heavens and the new earth, which I will make, shall remain before me, saith the LORD, so shall your seed and your name remain. 23 And it shall come to pass, that from one new moon to another, and from one sabbath to another, shall all flesh come to worship before me, saith the LORD. 24 And they shall go forth, and look upon the carcases of the men that have transgressed against me: for their worm shall not die, neither shall their fire be quenched; and they shall be an abhorring unto all flesh.
Isaiah chapter 5 is one of those passages that it is easy to look at and see nothing. Like so much of the prophets it can feel as if our eyes are passing over the words but they are not connecting with anything. It reads like a litany of complaints about the people of Israel and, surprise, surprise, what’s going to happen to them because they are too stiff-necked to repent.
Bible commentaries make a lot of connections between Isaiah 5 and other prophecies but it appears that no one makes a connection to Revelation and the plagues of the Tribulation. The connection would appear to be obvious from the context given us in v. 30: the light is darkened in the heavens thereof.

Let’s break it down
Isaiah 5:15-16, 26-29
And the mean man shall be brought down, and the mighty man shall be humbled, and the eyes of the lofty shall be humbled: But the LORD of hosts shall be exalted in judgment, and God that is holy shall be sanctified in righteousness.
( Isaiah 5:15-16 ) KJV
This verse clearly the 5th and 6th trumpet/vials. There is another section of this chapter which refers to this event. It is a description of an army which is coming. It is easy to suppose that this refers to an imminent situation faced by the inhabitants at that time, but it will be placed into its correct context by the last verse of the chapter.
26 And he will lift up an ensign to the nations from far, and will hiss unto them from the end of the earth: and, behold, they shall come with speed swiftly: 27 None shall be weary nor stumble among them; none shall slumber nor sleep; neither shall the girdle of their loins be loosed, nor the latchet of their shoes be broken: 28 Whose arrows are sharp, and all their bows bent, their horses’ hoofs shall be counted like flint, and their wheels like a whirlwind: 29 Their roaring shall be like a lion, they shall roar like young lions: yea, they shall roar, and lay hold of the prey, and shall carry it away safe, and none shall deliver it.
( Isaiah 5:26-29 ) KJV

Isaiah 5:24-25
24 Therefore as the fire devoureth the stubble, and the flame consumeth the chaff, so their root shall be as rottenness, and their blossom shall go up as dust: because they have cast away the law of the LORD of hosts, and despised the word of the Holy One of Israel. 25 Therefore is the anger of the LORD kindled against his people, and he hath stretched forth his hand against them, and hath smitten them: and the hills did tremble, and their carcases were torn in the midst of the streets. For all this his anger is not turned away, but his hand is stretched out still.
( Isaiah 5:24-25 ) KJV
This part is rather vague and could easily be simply a reference to the present circumstances, however, the context is given later at the end of the chapter.

The changes that take place on earth during the tribulation, in the build up to the establishment of the Millennial Kingdom, are discussed in the devotion for November.
I tell you, many will come from east and west and recline at table with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob in the kingdom of heaven, while the sons of the kingdom will be thrown into the outer darkness. In that place there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.
(Matthew 8:11-12) ESV
Outer darkness is only referred to three times in scripture, but by using context we can establish what and where it is. The easiest thing to take for context is the gnashing of teeth, which occurs nine times in the Bible.
{To the chief Musician, A Psalm of David.} The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament sheweth his handywork. Day unto day uttereth speech, and night unto night sheweth knowledge. There is no speech nor language, where their voice is not heard. Their line is gone out through all the earth, and their words to the end of the world. In them hath he set a tabernacle for the sun, Which is as a bridegroom coming out of his chamber, and rejoiceth as a strong man to run a race. His going forth is from the end of the heaven, and his circuit unto the ends of it: and there is nothing hid from the heat thereof.
(Psalms 19:1-6) KJV
The new heaven and new Earth spoken of in the Revelation are filled with the light of the glory of God. There’ll be no day or night, no need of the sun or moon. So what’s going to happen to the sun and moon?
