Deliver Your Soul From Death

Behold, the eye of the LORD is upon them that fear him, upon them that hope in his mercy; To deliver their soul from death, and to keep them alive in famine.

(Psalms 33:18-19) KJV

Being dead doesn’t mean that we cease to exist. Dead or alive refers to the condition of our soul in terms of it’s relationship to God. God has power over the life and death of the soul, through the sacrifice of Christ on the cross.

There’s no other power available which can keep your soul alive. Only faith in Jesus Christ can deliver your soul from death.

Alive or Dead?

And you, being dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of your flesh, hath he quickened together with him, having forgiven you all trespasses;

(Colossians 2:13) KJV

Paul’s writing to people who are metabolically alive and telling them that they were dead, but now they’re alive. Clearly he’s not talking about biology or their bodies, he’s talking about their souls. We’ve identified two states of the soul:

  1. Alive (quickened),
  2. dead.

During the days of our time on Earth we can be either dead or alive while our body’s still breathing. The difference between being dead or alive is whether or not we’ve trusted in Jesus Christ and been forgiven of our sins (quickened).

When we take our last breath it’s not the end of existence. We continue to be conscious, aware of our environment and external stimuli. Our soul is a gravity node which continues in one of two states after our body dies.

  1. Alive (quickened) in a new body in heaven,
  2. dead, but receiving stimuli and interacting with the environment,
    • in hell (temporarily), then
    • in the lake of fire (permanently).

All souls are eternal, however, they’re either dead or alive. The death of our body isn’t the end of consciousness, and the death of our soul isn’t the end of existence.

What is Gravity?

For God loved the world so much that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him may not die but have eternal life.

(John 3:16) Good News Translation

The simple answer to the question, what IS gravity? may be answered with words like the Higgs Boson particle. Don’t be fooled. That’s circumstantial evidence. The Higgs Boson particle is the mode of action of gravity, not its cause.

Two Trees

And the LORD God planted a garden eastward in Eden; and there he put the man whom he had formed. And out of the ground made the LORD God to grow every tree that is pleasant to the sight, and good for food; the tree of life also in the midst of the garden, and the tree of knowledge of good and evil.

(Genesis 2:8-9) KJV

We have lots of questions and definitions today. I thought I’d share them.

  • Question:
    • IF God created a perfect world which got ruined by accident,
    • THEN why was the tree of knowledge of good and evil in the garden of Eden?
  • Answer:
    • God didn’t create a perfect world.
  • Question:
    • WHY did God put the tree of knowledge of good and evil in the garden,
    • IF he knew that eating the fruit would ruin his creation?
  • Answer:
    • Eating the fruit didn’t ruin God’s creation.
  • Question:
    • IF God’s perfect world wasn’t supposed to fall into corruption, Plan A,
    • THEN was Christ’s death on the cross Plan B?
  • Answer:
    • God didn’t create a perfect world.
  • Question:
    • IF our soul is eternal,
    • WHY would we need a tree of life?
  • Answer:
    • The tree of life is for healing the body, not the soul.

Abiogenesis is the creative will of God expressed as progressively more complex biological life over the course of the 6 days of creation.

– Abiogenesis, definition

Devolution is change in allele frequency in a population, combined with accumulated mutations and DNA replication errors, that causes genomic decay, sickness, and loss of variability over time. It includes both macro and micro evolution. It began at the fall of man in Genesis 3:16.

– Devolution, definition

Devolution is the process of genetic change over time by which the animals saved on Noah’s ark gave rise to the distribution of current biodiversity.

– Devolution, context

Evolution on the scale required in the SciPop paradigm requires death. There was no death before sin, therefore the evolutionary basis of the Phylogenetic Tree of Life is impossible.

Ethiopia

And some fell among thorns; and the thorns sprung up, and choked them:

(Matthew 13:7) KJV

I went to BEZA International Church expecting a blessing. My ears tingled as I strained to hear every word: God was going to tell me what to do. This is what I heard: There is a book in you that only YOU can write!

Matty’s Paradox

  • IF 1,000 years has passed for each day on earth since the 2nd day,
    • AND the earth is about 6,000 years old.
  • THEN a minimum of 2.19 billion years has passed at the radial distance of the firmament, the remote regions of the cosmos, in the same period of time.

It’s part of a theory of gravity which is at the heart of God’s plan of redemption. Here’s a brief summary of what we can do with it.

Matty’s Paradigm, Harmonization

  1. The broad narrative of scripture:
    • separation of light from darkness,
    • redemption, propitiation and salvation,
    • fulfillment of prophecy.
  2. Empirical observation:
    • earth is the center of the observable universe.
  3. History:
    • earth is about 6,000 years old.
  4. Science:
    • a source of Hydrogen for nucleosynthesis,
    • origin of the cosmic microwave background radiation (CMBR),
    • a mathematical solution for black holes and dark matter,
    • the sun is less massive than the earth,
    • the remote regions of the cosmos are at minimum 2.19 billion years old,
    • the cosmos may be more than 13.8 billion years old,
    • stars will fall to earth.

The Armour of Light

The night is far spent, the day is at hand: let us therefore cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armour of light.

(Romans 13:12) KJV

If you don’t understand SciPop well enough to know that it’s not a threat to the truth of the Bible, and try to live a Christian life without the truth of the Bible, then you have no armor of light.

They are Without Excuse

For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness; Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath shewed it unto them. For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse: Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened. Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools, And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things.

(Romans 1:18-23) KJV

Creationists make the error of thinking that the science vs. faith debate is centered around evolution. This is an error for 2 reasons:

  1. science requires faith,
  2. the process of evolution fits into the Biblical young-earth narrative.

The Written Word

Creation Theory Predictive Testable Hypothesis 25

For when the Gentiles, which have not the law, do by nature the things contained in the law, these, having not the law, are a law unto themselves: Which shew the work of the law written in their hearts, their conscience also bearing witness, and their thoughts the mean while accusing or else excusing one another;) In the day when God shall judge the secrets of men by Jesus Christ according to my gospel.

( Romans 2:14-16 ) KJV

If the law of God has been written in our hearts, could it be that we are all walking around with the Bible as non-coding DNA in every cell of our bodies? In Matty’s Paradigm it’s within the realm of possibility.

The LGBTQIA+ Mind

And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient;

( Romans 1:28 ) KJV

I was recently told that being gay causes a person to have a reprobate mind. This came as a surprise for two reasons:

  1. The person who said it is a gay man and the context was the relationship he has with his Christian mom,
  2. that’s not the chain of causality that we can deduce from Romans chapter 1.

The person, a neighbor and friend, insisted that it is in the book of Leviticus. I waited patiently while he looked it up on his phone and, when he couldn’t find it, I explained that the passage he was referring to is Romans chapter 1, but that the chain of causality that is described is that homosexuality is an outcome, not a cause of the reprobate mind. The passage which describes the reprobate mind is in Romans 1:18-32. Let’s take a look:

( Romans 1:18-21 ) KJV

This is the first part of the passage which describes a person to whom the truth about God has been made abundantly obvious. Imagine someone like Charles Darwin. He had an opportunity to see first hand the unspoiled natural beauty of the world from the perspective of someone who had been raised up for the clergy. This was a man whose world view was shaped from his childhood around God the creator and his mysterious and unfathomable ways.

So imagine being able to see first hand the incredible diversity of life on earth and to have the opportunity to examine it’s intricate detail. Then imagine deciding that no, it had nothing to do with God, there must be another explanation for it.

Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools, And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things.

( Romans 1:22-23 ) KJV

This boils down to a denial of cause and effect. Today we see it as the atheist denial of cause. Ask an atheist, what caused the universe? The answer is provided without a second thought because it is so ingrained: who said the universe needs a cause?

Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves: Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen.

( Romans 1:24-25 ) KJV

Here we see the outcome of denying the self-evident truth that God is the creator: carnal depravity.

For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature: And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet.

( Romans 1:26-27 ) KJV

Denying the relationship between cause and effect has the effect of making us believe that there will be no consequences for our actions, as such, anything goes – with anyone. Receiving in themselves the recompense of their error? In the old days, when I was a kid, people used to think that this was the AIDS virus. People don’t talk about that anymore.

And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient; Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers, Backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents, Without understanding, covenantbreakers, without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful: Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them.

( Romans 1:28-32 ) KJV

It started with the denial of the truth about God, it ended with depravity.

So what if someone is gay for completely different reasons which have nothing to do with any of this? Like, for instance, how about the fact that it’s not illegal and it is socially acceptable? What if someone believes in God but, through circumstances, finds themselves questioning their sexuality and being able to find peace and comfort with someone of the same gender?

What if someone was raised by same-sex parents and experienced the love and joy of family life while watching their parents makes sacrifices so that they could have the very best opportunity to succeed?

What about the billion kids being raised by Facebook and Instagram to believe that its normal to wonder and question, and the only weird ones are those hateful Christians?

Identifying as LGBTQIA+ is not the cause of a reprobate mind, and the majority of people who self identify as LGBTQIA+ are not reprobates. It’s time that evangelical Christianity got up to speed.
