Spaghetti Syndrome
We were asked a question, or series of questions, which show how confused people are and how tricky it can be to give someone what they really want:
A simple answer.
The individual who asked, who we’ll refer to as a confused seeker, prefaced their questions by demonstrating that they were approaching us from inside a bowl of theological spaghetti.
In the Old Testament are many verses speaking of God’s forgiveness, we only have to ask him for it. As an Example….. see Psalms 86:5 above.
It would seem that this was added to by Jesus’ crucifixion, whereby all man’s sin is forgiven. As an example…..
And from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, and the first begotten of the dead, and the prince of the kings of the earth. Unto him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in his own blood,
(Revelation 1:5) KJV
Which leaves me with a few questions.
– Confused seeker.
- As we still have to ask God/Jesus for forgiveness, as we always did, why was a crucifixion necessary?
- If Jesus blood washed us from our sins, why are we still told that we are born in Original Sin?
- Why did God flood the world, kill everybody, start over again, yet forget to absolve Noah and his descendants of original sin? And if Noah’s family were cleansed of it, how did humanity get it back?
