The Mind Of Christ

But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned. But he that is spiritual judgeth all things, yet he himself is judged of no man. For who hath known the mind of the Lord, that he may instruct him? But we have the mind of Christ.

(1 Corinthians 2:14-16) KJV

Can we take a systematic approach to the Bible and come to know the mind of Christ? Some things are spiritually discerned, but if we who are spiritual take a systematic approach, what will we find?

We’re going to construct a spherogenetic classification of living organisms from the Bible so we have to be very clear about a few things.

  1. It’s not phylogenetic (not based on ancestry and descent),
  2. It’s based on the development of forms as an expression of the thought process of God the creator,
  3. It’s based on the sequence of steps outlined in Genesis 1 as the six days of creation,
  4. It took place across several spheres of life: the
    • atmosphere,
    • biosphere,
    • firmasphere and
    • hydrosphere.

We all have the same evidence. Our choice of paradigm determines what we think it’s evidence of.

Matty’s Razor

In Matty’s Paradigm biological life, based on cellular construction and containing DNA, was created on the 1st day. This was a zero gravity environment. The kinds of life forms created are preserved in some Precambrian strata. In mainstream science (SciPop) they’re assigned to the Ediacaran period.

Precambrian sediment was deposited on the second day in response to the creation of gravity. It’s part of our core accretion model. This simple explanation for the events of the first and second days is derived using deductive reasoning to reconcile the Bible with physical evidence. The first day is discussed in the daily devotional for January, the second day is discussed in the daily devotional for February. Biological life at this early stage of development isn’t the same as Biblical life. In the Bible living beings are animated by a spirit, which is to say they breath the air. They’re also aware of their environment, are independently mobile and have to make decisions – they’re sentient. Plants aren’t sentient.

Faith is believing in something that you can’t see, because of evidence.

The First Day

The development of life was spherogenetic, being based on the firmasphere, hydrosphere, atmosphere and biosphere. However this omits the first day of creation which wasn’t a sphere because it was formless. As such we have to start with the body of water called “the deep,” and designate it as the hydromorpha. On the first day we can be sure that the division of life into Prokayotes and Eukaryotes is well established as the basis for further development. There’s physical evidence of both of these groups in what we consider to be Precambrian sediment, therefore they predate the creation of gravity.

The reason for creation is the manifestation of sentient life with free will.

The Third Day

The next major burst of development of biological diversity was on the third day when God covered the dry ground with vegetation. The dry ground is what we refer to as the biosphere: trees, herbs and grasses. The green algae serve as the most likely progenitor of terrestrial plants. However, this isn’t a tree of evolutionary relationships, since evolution won’t start until the fall of man, they’re conceptual relationships.

The purpose of creation is to bring about the permanent physical separation of light from darkness, day from night, good from evil.

The Fourth Day

The next phase of the development of life was in the firmasphere on the fourth day. We don’t have much to go on, but we do have a place to start. We’re assuming that heavenly beings are based on Eukaryotic cells as opposed to something completely different and unknown. This assumption isn’t unwarranted since the first life developed in the hydromorpha which was before the heavens and the Earth were separated.

There are, however, different classes of heavenly beings. The creatures described in the visions of Isaiah, Ezekiel and John are easily identifiable as eukaryotic, but what about the sun or other gravitationally bound entities like Galaxies? We simply don’t know. We have to be willing to learn something completely new and different when the Lord explains all this to us one day.

Salvation

  1. Call upon the name of Jesus Christ,
    • believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead,
  2. confess your sin.
