The Recent Epoch

Behold, the LORD maketh the earth empty, and maketh it waste, and turneth it upside down, and scattereth abroad the inhabitants thereof.

(Isaiah 24:1) KJV

The Recent Epoch is everything since Peleg’s tectonics. Few people have had a greater influence on this time than Charles Darwin.

The evolution narrative (SciPop) which has developed from Darwin’s theory of evolution requires billions of years. However, if we were created as fully formed human beings with a complete genome, and evolution is the process of genetic decay, then the timescale is irrelevant. This means that the Earth really is 6,000 or so years old and we can still account for everything in anthropology, biology and geology.

The Earth is 6,000 years old but, because of a phenomenon known as gravitational time dilation, the remote regions of the cosmos may be 13.8 billion years old, or more, at the same time.

Matty’s Paradox

The ramifications of gravitational time dilation (GTD).

  • IF 1,000 years has passed for each day on Earth since the second day,
    • AND the Earth is about 6,000 years old.
  • THEN a minimum of 2.19 billion years has passed at the radial distance of the firmament (the remote regions of the cosmos) in the same period of time.

The geological time scale has been set up with some broad ages classes which are referred to as Eras. The Eras are subdivided into Periods. Each Period is further subdivided into smaller age bands referred to as Epochs. Thus we have Eras, Periods and Epochs as a hierarchy of smaller units of time.

The Cenozoic Era (Ceno – common) is split into the Tertiary and Quaternary Periods and this brings us to the present day. The Tertiary and Quaternary Periods are subdivided into Epochs which have descriptive names, the clear implication being that much more is known about them because they are so recent. This brings us to what the geological time scale refers to as recent. There are several historical events in the Recent Epoch which are associated with catastrophes of world-wide significance.

The Recent Epoch

  1. Famine in the time of the Patriarchs,
  2. Sodom and Gomorrah,
  3. The Exodus,
  4. The sun stood still,
  5. The earthquake in the days of Uzziah,
  6. The sundial of Ahaz,
  7. The star of Bethlehem.

We’ll work on these events in the days to come.
