Axiom V – Current Biodiversity is the Result of Evolution

I was in the city of Joppa praying: and in a trance I saw a vision, A certain vessel descend, as it had been a great sheet, let down from heaven by four corners; and it came even to me: Upon the which when I had fastened mine eyes, I considered, and saw fourfooted beasts of the earth, and wild beasts, and creeping things, and fowls of the air.

(Acts 11:5-6) KJV

We’ve fought most of our battles against the scientific establishment, the armies of atheist science trolls (ASTs) and scientifically illiterate science worshipers (SISW), but there’s another battle coming: Christians.

We believe that God knows what he’s doing, so he’s kept us out of those circles for the most part. Occasionally though, on Twitter or Instagram, We get attacked by Christians but we try to handle them carefully with this admonition:

If you’re a Christian then you already have what you need, Jesus Christ. We respectfully suggest that you keep your peace with us and let us do what we’re called to do.

– Response to Hostile Christians

We all have the same evidence. Our choice of paradigm determines what we think it’s evidence of.

Matty’s Razor

There’s a couple of things that Christians have handled so badly that we don’t think it could possibly have been any worse:

  2. Evolution

We’ve written about LGBTQIA+ elsewhere, and we’ll undoubtedly revisit it. Our life has had it’s fair share of miracles, some of them have been the amazing way that friends and colleagues self-identifying as LGBTQIA+ have played roles in it.

Evolution is the issue that makes us wince when we least expect it. For example: Our church hosted some singers from out-of-town. They were exceptional. They sang songs with powerful messages of hope and encouragement. There was just one place where the leader was speaking a few words between songs when he said something that made us wince, but we were probably the only person in the church who noticed it. It was along the lines of:

Everyone has faith in something. Even people who believe in evolution have to have faith in it.

– Christian Musician

We winced because it’s not necessary, or frankly helpful, to deny that evolution has taken place. To put it simply: evolution isn’t the origin of species, it’s what happened in between Noah’s ark and the present day. It should really be called DEvolution, and it has a Biblical context.

Devolution is the process of genetic change over time by which the animal kinds saved on Noah’s ark gave rise to the current distribution of biodiversity.

– Devolution, context

If you self-identify on social media as Christian then don’t be surprised if people immediately assume that you’re an ignorant home-schooled knuckle-dragging moron. It’s somewhat disturbing to ponder why this would be the case given that we have several illustrious organizations, like AIG, CMI and ICR, at the forefront of Christian education. Evidently it took a genius to figure out that the way that these organizations teach evolution is the problem. It’s why people automatically assume that Christians are stupid.

Home-schooling is by far the best option for protecting family unity and maintaining a barrier against worldly influences which are trying to destroy your kids minds. However, you’re not required to raise your kids to be idiots. Why not teach them to be brilliant? It comes down to knowing the Word of God and testing everything against it. Christian education programs provided by the organizations listed above will produce idiots.
