Then Jesus spoke to them again, saying, “I am the light of the world. He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life.”
(John 8:12) NKJV
On the 7th day God rested from his work of creating. This may have been the last time that the world could have been described as very good. It was the peace before the storm. However now there was light and darkness, good and evil, up and down.
The universe hadn’t just been created, it had been ordered. It was part of an ongoing process by which would be permanently separated from darkness. It’s a process of refinement.
We are all an integral part of the refining of creation. Do you want to be refined and be with the light, or do you want to be discarded with the darkness? Only one outcome is possible. The difference between one outcome and the other is how you respond to the truth that God has revealed, through the person Jesus Christ.
Tomorrow we begin to look at what happens next.
