God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And there was evening and there was morning, the first day.(Genesis 1:5) ESV
The deep had to be transformed in order to produce light. Formless became formed, empty became full, dark became light. However, this caused a new darkness: night. Not the absence of light, the obstruction of light.

and God says, “Let light be”; and light is.(Genesis 1:3) LSV
When God said, let light be, the lamb of God was slain from the foundation of the world. That’s why it went dark at the end of the first day, the second occurrence of darkness that we have to account for, called night.

Therefore “Come out from among them And be separate, says the Lord. Do not touch what is unclean, And I will receive you.”(2 Corinthians 6:17) NKJV
Separation is a scriptural doctrine which is generally thought of in terms of Christians holding themselves apart from the rest of the world and avoiding worldly distraction which can lead us into sin. There’s more to it than that.

I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace and create evil: I the Lord do all these things.(Isaiah 45:7) KJV
The purpose of creation is to separate good from evil. A reasonable question is: Why were they mingled together in the first place? If God is good, then the evil had to be created from good. The sinless became sin.

Therefore, just as through one man sin entered the world, and death through sin, and thus death spread to all men, because all sinned –(Romans 5:12) NKJV
The reason and purpose of creation form the basis of narrative which allows us to account for all physical evidence and empirical observations within the context of 6 day creation, the fall, and the fulfillment of prophecy.

Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high; (Hebrews 1:3) KJV
With the fall of man the power of God to maintain atomic nuclei in a stable state was withdrawn somewhat. God’s power didn’t diminish, but God, according to his will and plan, allowed atomic nuclei to decay.

For thus saith the LORD that created the heavens; God himself that formed the earth and made it; he hath established it, he created it not in vain, he formed it to be inhabited: I am the LORD; and there is none else. (Isaiah 45:18) KJV
The creation of gravity caused the majority of the darkness and corruption in the universe to accumulate at the center of creation. This became the body of the Earth. The majority of light and purity accumulated in heaven.

He sings before men and says:
‘I sinned and perverted what was right,
and it was not repaid to me.
He has redeemed my soul from going down into the pit,
and my life shall look upon the light.’
“Behold, God does all these things,(Job 33:27-30) ESV
twice, three times, with a man,
to bring back his soul from the pit,
that he may be lighted with the light of life.
Creation has a purpose which combines the spiritual goal of separating good from evil with the physics of separating light from darkness. It gives us a unified theory of everything within the broad narrative of scripture.

In all his wisdom and insight God did what he had purposed, and made known to us the secret plan he had already decided to complete by means of Christ. This plan, which God will complete when the time is right, is to bring all creation together, everything in heaven and on earth, with Christ as head.
All things are done according to God’s plan and decision; and God chose us to be his own people in union with Christ because of his own purpose, based on what he had decided from the very beginning. Let us, then, who were the first to hope in Christ, praise God’s glory!(Ephesians 1:8-12) Good News Translation
One of the things which allows Matty’s Paradigm to be a consistent with the broad narrative of scripture is understanding that creation has a specific purpose. This purpose harmonizes physics with spirituality.

According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue: Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.(2 Peter 1:3-4) KJV
There’s a relationship between corruption and free will which goes, of necessity, all the way back to the formation of the cosmos. Light and darkness had to be mingled together in order to manifest free will.
