Tithes and Offerings

Bring all the tithes into the storehouse, That there may be food in My house, And try Me now in this,” Says the LORD of hosts, “If I will not open for you the windows of heaven And pour out for you such blessing That there will not be room enough to receive it.

(Malachi 3:10) NKJV

It may seem like an odd departure from our discussion of the war in heaven to bring up tithes and offerings, but it may be an important clue. Why a tithe (10%)? What’s the significance of this number?

The answer may lie in the fundamental physics of the universe. The particles used to make creation were deduced in the devotional for January, and the most interesting conclusion is that the universe that we can see, the observable universe, is exactly 10% of the mass of creation.

This is where we get the 10% figure. Now, it’s not a stretch to imagine that on the 2nd day at the ordering of creation brought about by gravity, a portion of the material that became part of heaven (10%) is corrupt and impure. Likewise a portion of the material which was bound into the Earth (10%) is pure and isn’t corrupted.

The ongoing history of Earth from the garden of Eden to the Millennial Kingdom is the process of refinement where the impurity in heaven is removed to the Earth, while the purity of Earth is moved to heaven.

The first part of the purification of heaven is the war which caused Satan and the rebellious angels to be banished to the Earth. Later the process will concludes when the heavens roll up like a scroll and the stars fall to Earth.
