Timothy, keep safe what has been entrusted to your care. Avoid the profane talk and foolish arguments of what some people wrongly call “Knowledge.” For some have claimed to possess it, and as a result they have lost the way of faith.
God’s grace be with you all.
(1 Timothy 6:20-21) Good News Translation
We like wry humor here at Matty’s Paradigm. A double-dose of irony with a side of snark. Here’s the definition of what you call Astronomy after it’s been filtered through the lens of Biblical cosmology.
Astronomy is: the body of knowledge generated by applying the Hawking Effect to the Star Trek Episodes. It’s been expanded to include most space-based SciFi (except Babylon 5); it’s synonymous with Astrology (where observations of the stars are used to predict outcomes) given that it’s used to deny the possibility of the fulfillment of Biblical prophesy; It’s a minor deity in the Atheist pantheon.
– Astronomy, definition
The Hawking effect is the current form of the scientific method in use in mainstream science (SciPop). It’s not data-driven, it’s an inductive rationalization of data to conform to THE NARRATIVE. In this case the narrative is Star Trek.
The Scientific Method Post Hawking
- If it’s plausible it’s possible.
- If it’s possible it happened.
- It has to have happened because we exist.
- The chances of us existing are so remotely tiny that our existence proves our hypothesis (whatever it is).
When we combine excessive amounts of meaningless data with THE NARRATIVE using the Hawking effect we arrive at a new definition of scientific knowledge which, by a totally staggering coincidence, is exactly what Paul predicted in this first letter to Timothy.
Scientific knowledge: anecdotal evidence combined with probability means it’s a reasonable assumption.
– a definition for the post-Hawking mainstream science Trekkie generation (SciPop)
As a result, Astronomy is now merely a vehicle for SciPop propaganda.
Modern Astronomy is a pseudoscientific validation of the Star Trek universe for the purpose of making you think that Biblical prophecy about the stars falling to Earth is ridiculous.
