The Fountains were Sealed with Magma

Oh that thou wouldest rend the heavens, that thou wouldest come down, that the mountains might flow down at thy presence, As when the melting fire burneth, the fire causeth the waters to boil, to make thy name known to thine adversaries, that the nations may tremble at thy presence!

(Isaiah 64:1-2) KJV

Can we make the case that the phrase “When He strengthened the fountains of the deep,” means “sealed shut with lava or magma?” We’ll need to look at other passages where the word translated as strengthened occurs.

Mist or Steam?

And every plant of the field before it was in the earth, and every herb of the field before it grew: for the LORD God had not caused it to rain upon the earth, and there was not a man to till the ground. But there went up a mist from the earth, and watered the whole face of the ground.

(Genesis 2:5-6) KJV

The context of the mist that went up is important. It’s part of the narrative of the week of creation when the fountains of the great deep had to be sealed after the deep had drained through them into the interior of the Earth.

A Mist Went Up

This is the history of the heavens and the earth when they were created, in the day that the Lord God made the earth and the heavens, before any plant of the field was in the earth and before any herb of the field had grown. For the Lord God had not caused it to rain on the earth, and there was no man to till the ground; but a mist went up from the earth and watered the whole face of the ground.

(Genesis 2:4-6) NKJV

Contextually the mist that went up was a phenomenon which happened during the week of creation, specifically on the third day. However, in conservative Christian doctrine this condition persisted until the time of Noah.

Antediluvian Geography

A river flowed out of Eden to water the garden, and there it divided and became four rivers. The name of the first is the Pishon. It is the one that flowed around the whole land of Havilah, where there is gold. And the gold of that land is good; bdellium and onyx stone are there. The name of the second river is the Gihon. It is the one that flowed around the whole land of Cush. And the name of the third river is the Tigris, which flows east of Assyria. And the fourth river is the Euphrates.

(Genesis 2:10-14) ESV

At the end of the third day the Earth is a hollow sphere covered with lush vegetation. The land mass covers the majority of it’s surface. The the dry ground is described as having four major geographic areas.

The Whole Earth

Then the iron, the clay, the bronze, the silver, and the gold, all together were broken in pieces, and became like the chaff of the summer threshing floors; and the wind carried them away, so that not a trace of them could be found. But the stone that struck the image became a great mountain and filled the whole earth.

(Daniel 2:35) ESV

When we consider the similarities between the third day and the Millennial Kingdom we should realize that, if flat Earth is Biblical, then maps of the supposed flat Earth should have Jerusalem at the center. They don’t.

The Potter’s Hand

a potter makes a clay bowl on a wheel

The Lord said to me, “Go down to the potter’s house, where I will give you my message.” So I went there and saw the potter working at his wheel. Whenever a piece of pottery turned out imperfect, he would take the clay and make it into something else.

(Jeremiah 18:1-4) Good News Translation

We have to deduce a physical process by which a solid ball of stratified sediment, the Earth at the end of the second day, is formed into a hollow sphere with a hydrological system by the end of the third day.

The Fountains of the Great Deep

In the six hundredth year of Noah’s life, in the second month, on the seventeenth day of the month, on that day all the fountains of the great deep burst forth, and the windows of the heavens were opened.

(Genesis 7:11) ESV

Did God build the fountains of the great deep for the purpose of flooding the Earth? If he did then he must have intended to flood it even before Adam and Eve sinned in the garden of Eden. That’s a problem.

We All Have the Same Evidence

And I saw what appeared to be a sea of glass mingled with fire—and also those who had conquered the beast and its image and the number of its name, standing beside the sea of glass with harps of God in their hands.

(Revelation 15:2) ESV

One of the most well known events in the science vs. faith fiasco was a match up between Ken Ham and Bill Nye. The debate was on the question “Is Creation A Viable Model of Origins?”

East of Eden

Sunlight filtering throught leave of a knarled tree in the fall

Then Cain went away from the presence of the LORD and settled in the land of Nod, east of Eden.

(Genesis 4:16) ESV

He drove out the man, and at the east of the garden of Eden he placed the cherubim and a flaming sword that turned every way to guard the way to the tree of life.

(Genesis 3:24) ESV

The east of Eden may seem like a vague reference, particularly if we were asking for directions, but it may be the location of an intriguing event which jump started the development of technology.

How could there be photosynthetic life before there was a sun?

And God said, “Let the earth sprout vegetation, plants yielding seed, and fruit trees bearing fruit in which is their seed, each according to its kind, on the earth.” And it was so.

(Genesis 1:11) ESV

And God said, “Let there be lights in the expanse of the heavens to separate the day from the night. And let them be for signs and for seasons, and for days and years,

(Genesis 1:14) ESV

The third day of creation, when God made the dry land appear and covered it with lush vegetation, is a subject of derision from atheist science trolls (ASTs) because of where it occurs in the sequence of creation.
