East of Eden

Then Cain went away from the presence of the LORD and settled in the land of Nod, east of Eden.

(Genesis 4:16) ESV

He drove out the man, and at the east of the garden of Eden he placed the cherubim and a flaming sword that turned every way to guard the way to the tree of life.

(Genesis 3:24) ESV

The east of Eden may seem like a vague reference, particularly if we were asking for directions, but it may be the location of an intriguing event which jump started the development of technology.

It’s circumstantial but we can pull on a couple of threads and weave together a narrative in which the anointed Cherub sells the knowledge of musical instruments, metal working and jewelry to the inhabitants of a city which Cain built. It proves that Satan isn’t the anointed Cherub, which is going to be a major shock for most conservative Christians.
