Switching Between Helio and Geo Centered Models

That they may know from the rising of the sun to its setting That there is none besides Me. I am the LORD, and there is no other;

(Isaiah 45:6) NKJV

The best illustration of how we can switch back and forth between different frames of reference, such as heliocentric and Geocentrospheric, is an interactive guide to the flight path of the Voyagers.

Another Heliocentric #EpicFail

O Timothy! Guard what was committed to your trust, avoiding the profane and idle babblings and contradictions of what is falsely called knowledge—by professing it some have strayed concerning the faith. Frace be with you. Amen.

(1 Timothy 6:20-21) NKJV

How would you rationalize an event, during which the sun went backwards for 40 minutes, in a heliocentric system? It’s anyone’s guess, but there are several steps required.

The Sun Went Backwards

And Hezekiah said unto Isaiah, What shall be the sign that the LORD will heal me, and that I shall go up into the house of the LORD the third day? And Isaiah said, This sign shalt thou have of the LORD, that the LORD will do the thing that he hath spoken: shall the shadow go forward ten degrees, or go back ten degrees? And Hezekiah answered, It is a light thing for the shadow to go down ten degrees: nay, but let the shadow return backward ten degrees. And Isaiah the prophet cried unto the LORD: and he brought the shadow ten degrees backward, by which it had gone down in the dial of Ahaz.

(2 Kings 20:8-10) KJV

The sun going backwards is such a significant event that it’s recorded twice in scripture in 2 Kings 20 and Isaiah 38:8. It’s also referred to in 2 Chronicles 32:31 as “the wonder that was done in the land“.

The Sun and Moon Stood Still

Then spake Joshua to the LORD in the day when the LORD delivered up the Amorites before the children of Israel, and he said in the sight of Israel, Sun, stand thou still upon Gibeon; and thou, Moon, in the valley of Ajalon. And the sun stood still, and the moon stayed, until the people had avenged themselves upon their enemies. Is not this written in the book of Jasher? So the sun stood still in the midst of heaven, and hasted not to go down about a whole day.

(Joshua 10:12-14) KJV

Joshua was going so hard that he ordered the sun to stay still until he had killed everybody. That’s faith: when you know the power of God and trust in it so completely that of course you have access to it, why wouldn’t you?

Relative Motion

The sun still rises, and it still goes down, going wearily back to where it must start all over again.

(Ecclesiastes 1:5) Good News Translation

There’s no observable difference between heliocentric and Geocentrospheric models because they’re two frames of reference in the same system. They coexist.

“We know that the difference between a heliocentric theory and a geocentric theory is one of relative motion only, and that such a difference has no physical significance.”

— Sir Fred Hoyle in Astronomy and Cosmology, 1975, p. 416.
