The Strong Delusion is Faltering

The coming of the lawless one is according to the working of Satan, with all power, signs, and lying wonders, and with all unrighteous deception among those who perish, because they did not receive the love of the truth, that they might be saved. And for this reason God will send them strong delusion, that they should believe the lie, that they all may be condemned who did not believe the truth but had pleasure in unrighteousness.

The truth about God is self evident but, because we have free will, God has provided a plausible alternative so that people can make what seems, to them, to be a rational choice about their relationship with God.

Submit to the Law

Submit yourselves to every ordinance of man for the Lord’s sake: whether it be to the king, as supreme; Or unto governors, as unto them that are sent by him for the punishment of evildoers, and for the praise of them that do well. For so is the will of God, that with well doing ye may put to silence the ignorance of foolish men: As free, and not using your liberty for a cloke of maliciousness, but as the servants of God. God, through the power of the Holy Spirit, wrote the Bible and God knew that this day would come. Peter, foreseeing that the Church could come under attack for failing to obey local law, exhorts us to obey all laws.

Restricted Speech

Let the woman learn in silence with all subjection. But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence.

They didn’t have a Constitution or a First Amendment in Paul’s day, but it looks like the New Testament is unconstitutional. That’s ironic given that many Evangelicals are gun-toting advocates of the Second Amendment.

Intolerance

Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is abomination.

Intolerance is anathema to Christianity, in theory, so it is particularly warped that Evangelicals have developed a very strong climate of intolerance based on Bible passages.

Discrimination

A bishop then must be blameless, the husband of one wife, vigilant, sober, of good behaviour, given to hospitality, apt to teach;
Let deacons be the husbands of one wife, ruling their children and their own houses well.
(1 Timothy 3:2, 12) KJV

If any be blameless, the husband of one wife, having faithful children not accused of riot or unruly.
(Titus 1:6) KJV

You can’t post a job opening with the requirement that candidates have to be married men. That’s sexual discrimination, simple as that. It’s illegal.

Male Authority

But I want you to know that the head of every man is Christ, the head of woman is man, and the head of Christ is God.

Wives, submit to your own husbands, as to the Lord.
(Ephesians 5:22) NKJV

Is women submitting themselves to their husbands a selling point for Christianity? Does Christianity need to be sold? How about the dominance of male authority? What if there are no men?
