Inductive Reasoning

O Timothy! Guard what was committed to your trust, avoiding the profane and idle babblings and contradictions of what is falsely called knowledge— by professing it some have strayed concerning the faith.

(1 Timothy 6:20-21) NKJV

Logic, no matter how rigorous, breaks down when we speculate about something which we previously made up. Such as THE NARRATIVE we get from mainstream science for the origin of the universe (SciPop).

Deductive Reasoning

“To whom will he teach knowledge, and to whom will he explain the message? Those who are weaned from the milk, those taken from the breast? For it is precept upon precept, precept upon precept, line upon line, line upon line, here a little, there a little.”

(Isaiah 28:9-10) ESV

It’s not a good idea to pull Bible passages out of context because we’ve decided what we want them to mean and then proclaim that we have some new doctrine. That’s inductive reasoning, or eisegesis.

Free Will

“Now you shall say to this people, ‘Thus says the LORD: “Behold, I set before you the way of life and the way of death.

(Jeremiah 21:8) NKJV

There are two issues that help us to understand the reason for why we were created with free will and how this is even possible given the nature of God as pure and holy, not to mention omnipresent and omniscient.

Strong Delusion

The coming of the lawless one is according to the working of Satan, with all power, signs, and lying wonders, and with all unrighteous deception among those who perish, because they did not receive the love of the truth, that they might be saved. And for this reason God will send them strong delusion, that they should believe the lie, that they all may be condemned who did not believe the truth but had pleasure in unrighteousness.

(2 Thessalonians 2:9-12) NKJV

Why would God send a strong delusion if we’ve been given knowledge of the truth? Do you love the truth, or hate it? Some people don’t want it. You have a choice. You can believe anything you want.

Is Pilot Mountain, North Carolina, one of the pillars of the Earth?

All Flesh Shall See

Every valley shall be exalted, and every mountain and hill shall be made low: and the crooked shall be made straight, and the rough places plain: And the glory of the LORD shall be revealed, and all flesh shall see it together: for the mouth of the LORD hath spoken it.

(Isaiah 40:4-5) KJV

If we use induction where the premise is our desire (that there’s no creator God) then interpret evidence according to the desire that our premise is true we end up with “popular science” (SciPop).

My Holy Mountain

Is Pilot Mountain, North Carolina, one of the pillars of the Earth?

And they shall bring all your brethren for an offering unto the LORD out of all nations upon horses, and in chariots, and in litters, and upon mules, and upon swift beasts, to my holy mountain Jerusalem, saith the LORD, as the children of Israel bring an offering in a clean vessel into the house of the LORD. And I will also take of them for priests and for Levites, saith the LORD. For as the new heavens and the new earth, which I will make, shall remain before me, saith the LORD, so shall your seed and your name remain. And it shall come to pass, that from one new moon to another, and from one sabbath to another, shall all flesh come to worship before me, saith the LORD.

(Isaiah 66:20-23) KJV

The mountain referred to by Old Testament prophets as “my holy mountain” is a reworking of the current land configuration as opposed to something completely new of extra-terrestrial origin.

From Geba to Rimmon

The whole land shall be turned into a plain from Geba to Rimmon south of Jerusalem. But Jerusalem shall remain aloft on its site from the Gate of Benjamin to the place of the former gate, to the Corner Gate, and from the Tower of Hananel to the king’s winepresses. And it shall be inhabited, for there shall never again be a decree of utter destruction. Jerusalem shall dwell in security.

(Zechariah 14:10-11) ESV

The prophecy of the establishment of the Millennial Kingdom describes dramatic changes to the landscape. Zechariah chapter 14 is one of several that describe Jerusalem being lifted up.
