Strong Delusion

The coming of the lawless one is according to the working of Satan, with all power, signs, and lying wonders, and with all unrighteous deception among those who perish, because they did not receive the love of the truth, that they might be saved. And for this reason God will send them strong delusion, that they should believe the lie, that they all may be condemned who did not believe the truth but had pleasure in unrighteousness.

(2 Thessalonians 2:9-12) NKJV

Why would God send a strong delusion if we’ve been given knowledge of the truth? Do you love the truth, or hate it? Some people don’t want it. You have a choice. You can believe anything you want.

The Lie

Here’s some simple deduction: If the mainstream science narrative of godless existence (SciPop) is a contradiction of the account of human origins that we’re given in the Bible, then it’s a lie.

We all have the same evidence. Our choice of paradigm determines what we think it’s evidence of.

Matty’s Razor

Strong Delusion

Here’s some more simple deduction: If the scientific method is what’s used to make us believe the lie, then it’s the strong delusion.

The Scientific Method

  1. The Truth:
    • God is a Spirit.
  2. The Scientific Method:
    • The Truth is neither testable nor falsifiable,
    • therefore it’s unscientific and must be rejected.
  3. According to the rules of the scientific method:
    • popular science (SciPop) and the truth are mutually exclusive.

Here’s some nuance: we’re not anti-science. We love science with a passion and we’re thankful for all of the technology that we have. Our attitude is that science has been usurped and we’re going to fight to get it back. Bearing in mind, of course, that this is all part of God’s plan and everything happens according to his will.

The strong delusion and the lie are available to anyone who doesn’t want to deal with God, during this life, and that’s the choice that they’ve been given. On the other hand, do you want to be saved and have everlasting life? Believe in Jesus Christ.

Salvation

  1. Call upon the name of Jesus Christ,
    • believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead,
  2. confess your sin.

We choose to illustrate how the scientific method gets us to believe something that’s not true by considering hominid skulls. If humans evolved then the skulls show a progression of the evolutionary stages from primitive to advanced. If we were created then the skulls show a progression of genetic decay, as beauties like Adam and Eve degenerated to Neanderthals over the space of a dozen generations, from advanced to primitive.

In this case the difference between truth and the lie, light from dark, good from evil, can switch back and forth with the choice of how to code the data in a character state matrix.

The Context of the Strong Delusion

Years ago Ken Ham wrote a book called Evolution: The Lie. He was making the point that the people of our time have been fooled by SciPop into believing a false narrative of godless existence. He was only partly right. He made the case that evolution is the strong delusion that causes people to believe the lie of godless existence.

Our scientific background is Evolutionary Biology.

We got saved in July 1997 and one of the first books that we read, after the Bible, was Ken Ham’s “The Lie: Evolution.”

We loved it.

At the time it made perfect sense and it gave us the impetus to write about how evolution doesn’t disprove the Bible. It got us started.

However, describing evolution as the lie hamstrings (pun intended) the Christian apologist and mires us in tedious and unnecessary wrangling about an issue which is merely a distraction. When handled correctly, Devolution solves more problems than it causes.

Devolution is change in allele frequency in a population, combined with accumulated mutations and DNA replication errors, that causes genomic decay, sickness, and loss of variability over time. It includes both macro and micro evolution. It began at the fall of man in Genesis 3:16.

– Devolution, definition

We can even give devolution a context which solves even more problems.

Devolution is the process of genetic change over time by which the animal kinds saved on Noah’s ark gave rise to the current distribution of biodiversity.

– Devolution, context

As a result, if there’s a strong delusion which has been used to cause people to believe a lie then the very essence of it has to be heliocentricity. If Earth is at the center of the universe (an empirical observation) and the cosmos orbits the Earth (also an empirical observation) then the Earth is special, and it must have been created as part of a divine plan in which the human race is the subject. The way to get people to believe in godless existence, where the Earth is an insignificant speck orbiting another insignificant speck, has to be done through heliocentricity, not evolution.

Far out in the uncharted backwaters of the unfashionable end of the Western Spiral arm of the Galaxy lies a small unregarded yellow sun.
Orbiting this at a distance of roughly ninety-eight million miles is an utterly insignificant little blue-green planet whose ape-descended life forms are so amazingly primitive that they still think that [iPhones] are a pretty neat idea.

– Douglas Adams, The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy

This is how SciPop became nothing more than an increasingly flimsy validation of the Star Trek universe. People believe it because they want to, because of the corruption in our hearts.
