Removing the Curse

And Noah builded an altar unto the LORD; and took of every clean beast, and of every clean fowl, and offered burnt offerings on the altar. And the LORD smelled a sweet savour; and the LORD said in his heart, I will not again curse the ground any more for man’s sake; for the imagination of man’s heart is evil from his youth; neither will I again smite any more every thing living, as I have done.

(Genesis 8:20-21) KJV

Noah’s flood pictures the cleansing that we receive symbolically in baptism. The Earth was baptized and regenerated. Harmful pollutants which had been accumulating since the fall of man were washed into the oceans.

Meditate in the Law of the Lord

Open Door Baptist Church

Psalms 1:1-3

Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful.
But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate day and night.
And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.

v. 1 What is the council of the ungodly? What is the way of sinners? What is the seat of the scornful? Pretty much everything.

And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.  (Romans 12:2)

v. 2 How do I meditate? By asking questions and seeking answers from the Bible. For example:

What are Christian men and women allowed to do when they are dating?

Now concerning the things whereof ye wrote unto me: It is good for a man not to touch a woman. (1 Corinthians 7:1)

Should I borrow money?

Owe no man any thing, but to love one another: for he that loveth another hath fulfilled the law. (Romans 13:8)

Why not?

But godliness with contentment is great gain. (1 Timothy 6:6)

What if I can see a business advantage to borrowing money?

Behold, I send you forth as sheep in the midst of wolves: be ye therefore wise as serpents, and harmless as doves. (Matthew 10:16)

And the lord commended the unjust steward, because he had done wisely: for the children of this world are in their generation wiser than the children of light. (Luke 16:8)

Thou knowest the commandments, Do not commit adultery, Do not kill, Do not steal, Do not bear false witness, Defraud not, Honour thy father and mother. (Mark 10:19)

Should I hold a grudge?

Grudge not one against another, brethren, lest ye be condemned: behold, the judge standeth before the door.(James 5:9)

v.3 Planted by rivers of water sounds familiar…

The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want.
He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters. (Psalms 23:1-2)

Rest From Your Enemies

Danby House

2 Samuel 7:1

And it came to pass, when the king sat in his house, and the LORD had given him rest round about from all his enemies;

2 Samuel 11 :1

And it came to pass, after the year was expired, at the time when kings go forth to battle, that David sent Joab, and his servants with him, and all Israel; and they destroyed the children of Ammon, and besieged Rabbah. But David tarried still at Jerusalem.

Noah’s Flood

Lower Noachian

Noah’s flood was not only a world-wide catastrophe, it was also a very complex process which involved several phases. The first of these was when the fountains of the deep burst open and the windows of heaven opened. The fountains of the deep burst open because the expansion of hell caused the waters of the great deep to heat up, eventually to boiling point where they were in contact with the core. The pressure burst open the fountains of the great deep and caused hot water to come flooding out of the ground in many locations around the globe.

As this was occurring, water from above the firmament, which had been traveling through space for some time, also hit the earth. This water was very cold, probably frozen, and so we have the intermixing of very hot and very cold water in a deluge which is rapidly drowning the earth. The evidence of this process is sufficient to have led naturalists of bygone ages to propose that “Gigantic waves,” wrote J. Geikie, “were supposed to have precipitated upon the land, and swept madly on over mountain and valley alike, carrying along with them a mighty burden of rocks and stones and rubbish.” The problem was that no cause could be ascertained which could account for the gigantic waves, and the idea was replaced by the theory of ice ages.

It should now be possible to resolve all of these issues. The Noachian is the term we are giving to the sedimentary deposits which were deposited in Noah’s flood. This includes strata currently assigned to all Periods of the geological time scale from the Cambrian to the Quaternary. This equates to the Paleozoic, Mesozoic and Cenozoic Eras. We have already seen the way in which the Cretaceous/Tertiary boundary (Mesozoic/Cenozoic) with its Iridium anomaly can be resolved as the moment when the 40 days and nights of rain ended, but we may also be able to define the boundary between the Paleozoic and Mesozoic Eras as part of the process of the flood too.

When the waters of the great deep burst forth and were met at the surface of earth by the waters from above the firmament there were indeed gigantic waves which propagated from the equator to the poles, destroying everything in their path and carrying the debris along with devastating force. As these waves reached the poles they gained height and energy, scrubbed the poles completely clean of all surface deposits, then began to retreat back to the equator. This is the Paleozoic/Mesozoic boundary. The waters made their first pass across the land traveling from the equator to the poles, depositing the sediments which we refer to as the Cambrian, Ordovician, Silurian, Devonian, Carboniferous and Permian (Paleozoic Era). The water then reversed course and flowed back to the equator, depositing the sediments which we assign to the Triassic, Jurassic and Cretaceous (Mesozoic). When the rain ended and the waves stopped propagating the Tertiary and Quaternary sediments were deposited (Cenozoic). We are going to call the Cenozoic Era the Upper Noachian.

The Lower Noachian encompasses the Paleozoic Era, the Middle Noachian encompasses the Mesozoic Era.

This is just a rough idea. Bear in mind that all rock strata were deposited in the same event: Noah’s flood. The only reason that they have been arranged in the way that they have in the geological time scale is to make it compatible with the basic premise of the theory of evolution, which is the idea that simple forms are the oldest, more complex forms are recent.

Is Pilot Mountain, North Carolina, one of the pillars of the Earth?

The Stones Would Immediately Cry Out

And some of the Pharisees from among the multitude said unto him, Master, rebuke thy disciples. And he answered and said unto them, I tell you that, if these should hold their peace, the stones would immediately cry out.

(Luke 19:39-40) KJV

It’s so obvious that there’s been a world-wide flood that it’s as if the very stones are crying out, giving testimony of the glorious majesty of our God.

Toward a Grand Synthesis

In the six hundredth year of Noah’s life, in the second month, the seventeenth day of the month, the same day were all the fountains of the great deep broken up, and the windows of heaven were opened. And the rain was upon the earth forty days and forty nights.

(Genesis 7:11-12) KJV

Noah’s flood was not only a world-wide catastrophe, it was also a process which involved several stages. It gives us a way to account for the stratigraphic column, Cambrian through Quaternary.

Antediluvian: Before Noah’s Flood

<< Previous | Next >>

Warmian/Antediluvian

Based on what happens next in the history of earth we are speculating that the people of Noah’s time experienced Antediluvian global warming. Hell has continued to expand, as prophesied in Deuteronomy 32:22, and is melting the foundations of the earth. This is causing the waters of the great deep to heat up, which in turn has to be having an effect on the climate ate the surface of earth.

Before the Fall

<< Previous | Next >>

Naiveian

For all we know the period after the end of creation and before the fall of man, when Adam and Eve ate the fruit of the tree of knowledge, was a day. It could have been years. We aren’t told. We are told that the creation fell and began to decay.

Before this happened, however, the earth was a complex planet with a hydrological cycle which involved water of the great deep cycling through the interior of the earth.

The 2nd Day

Planet earth on the second day as concentric layers of sediment around a gravitational singularity

Precambrian

On the 2nd day of creation, God created gravity. This rewrites Physics since Sir Isaac Newton but we have dealt with that elsewhere. The thing that concerns us is the physical reality of what happened after the creation of gravity. We refer to what God created as a singularity.

The singularity caused the waters of the deep – tehom – to become spherical. This was the first form that the creation took, and the form in which it has remained. The heaviest elements and molecules sank towards the center and there is an Hebrew concept of gravity that occurs in scripture at the moment that gravity was created. The heavy atoms and molecules began to form a core, displacing the lighter forms outward and establishing concentric layers of sediment. This caused the waters below the firmament to contract, a gaseous atmosphere formed, and Qxygen was available to combine with Iron rich compounds. This caused iron oxides to precipitate out of solution and be deposited as the Banded Iron Formations.

The compacting of matter around the singularity trapped and buried some of the life forms which had been created on the first day. There are what we refer to as Precambrian fossils.
