All the land shall be turned as a plain from Geba to Rimmon south of Jerusalem: and it shall be lifted up, and inhabited in her place, from Benjamin’s gate unto the place of the first gate, unto the corner gate, and from the tower of Hananeel unto the king’s winepresses. And men shall dwell in it, and there shall be no more utter destruction; but Jerusalem shall be safely inhabited.
The land from Geba to Rimmon, an area including Jerusalem with a diameter of about 40 miles, is going to be lifted up.
This will be a plateau at the summit of a mountain that fills the whole earth.
Comfort ye, comfort ye my people, saith your God. Speak ye comfortably to Jerusalem, and cry unto her, that her warfare is accomplished, that her iniquity is pardoned: for she hath received of the LORD’S hand double for all her sins. The voice of him that crieth in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the LORD, make straight in the desert a highway for our God. Every valley shall be exalted, and every mountain and hill shall be made low: and the crooked shall be made straight, and the rough places plain: And the glory of the LORD shall be revealed, and all flesh shall see it together: for the mouth of the LORD hath spoken it.
If every mountain is to be lowered and every valley raised up, then we are talking about flattening out the entire surface of earth.
Is this poetic language or a prophecy of major tectonic activity?
Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear.
Immanuel Velikovsky’s motivation was, like a good scientist, the denial of God.
He made a monumental effort to be sure.
In Matty’s Paradigm we have even more worlds colliding than Velikovsky did.
And they shall build the old wastes, they shall raise up the former desolations, and they shall repair the waste cities, the desolations of many generations.
Immanuel Velikovsky was right, sort of, but the academic world had absolutely no interest. His conclusions did not fit the scientific narrative of godless existence, as established by peer review.
Then Job answered and said,
I know it is so of a truth: but how should man be just with God?
If he will contend with him, he cannot answer him one of a thousand.
He is wise in heart, and mighty in strength: who hath hardened himself against him, and hath prospered?
Which removeth the mountains, and they know not: which overturneth them in his anger.
Which shaketh the earth out of her place, and the pillars thereof tremble.
We look at the precise timing of the tectonic breakup of Pangaea.
We can do this very accurately.
The time-lapse from Noah’s flood to Peleg, and from Peleg to Abraham, is recorded in Genesis 11:10-26.
The earth is utterly broken down, the earth is clean dissolved, the earth is moved exceedingly.
The earth shall reel to and fro like a drunkard, and shall be removed like a cottage; and the transgression thereof shall be heavy upon it; and it shall fall, and not rise again.
Subduction and mountain building (orogeny) accounts for the circumferential shortening we observe in the earth’s crust.
This was caused when the earth underwent radial shrinkage in the time of Peleg.
The earth and all the inhabitants thereof are dissolved: I bear up the pillars of it. Selah.
The top of Pilot Mountain, North Carolina, used to be at about the level of the inner surface of the lower mantle.
It’s one of the pillars of the earth.
The earth’s radius has shrunk.
There was a certain rich man, which was clothed in purple and fine linen, and fared sumptuously every day: And there was a certain beggar named Lazarus, which was laid at his gate, full of sores, And desiring to be fed with the crumbs which fell from the rich man’s table: moreover the dogs came and licked his sores. And it came to pass, that the beggar died, and was carried by the angels into Abraham’s bosom: the rich man also died, and was buried; And in hell he lift up his eyes, being in torments, and seeth Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom. And he cried and said, Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus, that he may dip the tip of his finger in water, and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame. But Abraham said, Son, remember that thou in thy lifetime receivedst thy good things, and likewise Lazarus evil things: but now he is comforted, and thou art tormented. And beside all this, between us and you there is a great gulf fixed: so that they which would pass from hence to you cannot; neither can they pass to us, that would come from thence. Then he said, I pray thee therefore, father, that thou wouldest send him to my father’s house: For I have five brethren; that he may testify unto them, lest they also come into this place of torment. Abraham saith unto him, They have Moses and the prophets; let them hear them. And he said, Nay, father Abraham: but if one went unto them from the dead, they will repent. And he said unto him, If they hear not Moses and the prophets, neither will they be persuaded, though one rose from the dead.
Ready for some actual science?
This is a valid interpretation of what we can learn from seismological data about the internal structure of the earth.
How do we test it?
Declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times the things that are not yet done, saying, My counsel shall stand, and I will do all my pleasure:
Do you even Science?
This is what you have been told to believe.
It is not a testable hypothesis, therefore it is not scientific.
Science is not scientific.
Are you paying attention?
But I say unto you, That whosoever is angry with his brother without a cause shall be in danger of the judgment: and whosoever shall say to his brother, Raca, shall be in danger of the council: but whosoever shall say, Thou fool, shall be in danger of hell fire.
Science is supposed to know the answer to this question.
One possible explanation is compatible with our hypothesis that God created gravity on the 2nd day, and the earth formed around it.
