“Deep calls to deep” may be flowery poetic language intended to teach us something spiritual. However we’re going to use it as the literal description of a hydrological cycle. It’s an application of Hypothesis 22.

A stream flowed in Eden and watered the garden; beyond Eden it divided into four rivers. The first river is the Pishon; it flows around the country of Havilah. (Pure gold is found there and also rare perfume and precious stones.) The second river is the Gihon; it flows around the country of Cush. The third river is the Tigris, which flows east of Assyria, and the fourth river is the Euphrates.

The simple answer to the question: where did the water come from which watered the surface of the land? is: it up welled at Eden. But, how did it get to Eden if there hadn’t been any rain?

The logic of Eden is deduced from a simple observation: IF rivers from Eden watered the surface of the Earth, AND water flows downhill, THEN Eden must have been the highest point on the Earth.

Deductive reasoning is fun and easy, it’s simple logic most of the time. The Apostle Paul refers to something called the third heaven in which case, logically, there must also be a first and second heaven.

The Bible does NOT say that the Earth is flat. Not anywhere. The flat Earth insanity is what happens when you induce a rationalization of scripture to fit the premise of a flat Earth.

(Matthew 27:45) ESV
We make a connection between the darkness in Genesis 1:2 and the darkness that fell upon the world while Jesus hung on the cross. This is the sacrifice which had to be made to pay the price of our redemption, the propitiation.
