Tehom

Lower Noachian

You have sent troubles and suffering on me,
but you will restore my strength;
you will keep me from the grave.

(Psalms 71:20) Good News Translation

We (that’s me and the Holy spirit) make a contextual connection between tehom and sheol because they’re both used to refer to the underworld realm of the dead, also known as the grave.

Cursed Earth

And unto Adam he said, Because thou hast hearkened unto the voice of thy wife, and hast eaten of the tree, of which I commanded thee, saying, Thou shalt not eat of it: cursed is the ground for thy sake; in sorrow shalt thou eat of it all the days of thy life; Thorns also and thistles shall it bring forth to thee; and thou shalt eat the herb of the field; In the sweat of thy face shalt thou eat bread, till thou return unto the ground; for out of it wast thou taken: for dust thou art, and unto dust shalt thou return.

(Genesis 3:17-19) KJV

Given the context of our core accretion model and the evidence of the destruction and decay of planet Earth we may deduce that the curse that God placed upon the ground was nuclear decay.

The Timeline for Noah’s Flood

And it came to pass in the six hundred and first year, in the first month, the first day of the month, that the waters were dried up from the earth; and Noah removed the covering of the ark and looked, and indeed the surface of the ground was dry. And in the second month, on the twenty-seventh day of the month, the earth was dried.

(Genesis 8:13-14) NKJV

The timeline for Noah’s flood comes directly from scripture and this is the framework that we use to interpret evidence from the stratigraphic column.

Advances and Retreats of Continental Ice Sheets

And God remembered Noah, and every living thing, and all the cattle that was with him in the ark: and God made a wind to pass over the earth, and the waters asswaged.

(Genesis 8:1) KJV

Several advances and retreats of continental ice sheets, accompanied by some elevation of continents and draining of major synclines.” There used to be an ice age 10,000 years ago, but THE NARRATIVE became murky and confusing.

Precise Timing of Noah’s Flood

a jawbone

In the six hundredth year of Noah’s life, in the second month, the seventeenth day of the month, the same day were all the fountains of the great deep broken up, and the windows of heaven were opened.

(Genesis 7:11) KJV

The Hagerman horse quarry fossils allow us deduce the time of year of Noah’s flood: late winter/early spring. Genesis says it was the second month, the seventeenth day of the month. In our calendar: February 17.

Climatic Cooling

And God remembered Noah, and every living thing, and all the cattle that was with him in the ark: and God made a wind to pass over the earth, and the waters asswaged.

(Genesis 8:1) KJV

We’ve made the case that after Noah’s flood the wind which caused the waters to abate produced a cooling effect which cause polar and equatorial glaciation. Evidence of equatorial glaciation is assigned to the Permian.

Continental Uplifts and a Major Orogeny

To Eber were born two sons: the name of one was Peleg, for in his days the earth was divided; and his brother’s name was Joktan.

(Genesis 10:25) NKJV

How do we account for fossils when the fossils are older than the geographic features that they’re part of? “Marked world-wide continental uplifts and a major orogeny resulting in the rise of the Alps.“
