Sharks and Bony Fish

So God created great sea creatures and every living thing that moves, with which the waters abounded, according to their kind, and every winged bird according to its kind. And God saw that it was good. And God blessed them, saying, “Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the waters in the seas, and let birds multiply on the earth.”

(Genesis 1:21-22) NKJV

Sedimentary deposits containing sharks and bony fish can be assigned to the Mississippian because of how the evolution narrative, of development from primitive to advanced, overlays with the geological timescale.

Fish Or Whale?

May 20

Now the LORD had prepared a great fish to swallow up Jonah. And Jonah was in the belly of the fish three days and three nights.

(Jonah 1:17) KJV

For as Jonas was three days and three nights in the whale’s belly; so shall the Son of man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth,

(Matthew 12:40) KJV

Was Jonah in the belly of a fish or a whale? Is this a contradiction in scripture? Unbelievers hoot with delight at contradictions in scripture because a whale isn’t a fish. Or is it?

The New “Scientific Knowledge”

May 18

Even the sea monsters draw out the breast, they give suck to their young ones: the daughter of my people is become cruel, like the ostriches in the wilderness.

(Lamentations 4:3) KJV

A new definition of “scientific knowledge” is necessary for the post-Hawking popular science (SciPop) Trekkie generation.

“Anecdotal evidence combined with probability means its a reasonable assumption.”

Bats are Birds

May 3

“And these you shall detest among the birds; they shall not be eaten; they are detestable: the eagle, the bearded vulture, the black vulture, the kite, the falcon of any kind, every raven of any kind, the ostrich, the nighthawk, the sea gull, the hawk of any kind, the little owl, the cormorant, the short-eared owl, the barn owl, the tawny owl, the carrion vulture, the stork, the heron of any kind, the hoopoe, and the bat.

(Leviticus 11:13-19) ESV

People have found some ingenious reasons to reject the truth of the Bible. There are some others which aren’t ingenious, not by a long shot.

The Fish’s Belly

Then Jonah prayed unto the LORD his God out of the fish’s belly, And said, I cried by reason of mine affliction unto the LORD, and he heard me; out of the belly of hell cried I, and thou heardest my voice.

(Jonah 2:1-2) KJV

Jonah woke up in a dark, cramped, smelly, moist place not knowing where he was. He’d been resurrected after a harrowing experience in the interior of the Earth. That’s not the only thing that’s odd about this verse.

Cherub Classification

Also out of the midst thereof came the likeness of four living creatures. And this was their appearance; they had the likeness of a man. And every one had four faces, and every one had four wings. And their feet were straight feet; and the sole of their feet was like the sole of a calf’s foot: and they sparkled like the colour of burnished brass. And they had the hands of a man under their wings on their four sides; and they four had their faces and their wings. Their wings were joined one to another; they turned not when they went; they went every one straight forward. As for the likeness of their faces, they four had the face of a man, and the face of a lion, on the right side: and they four had the face of an ox on the left side; they four also had the face of an eagle. Thus were their faces: and their wings were stretched upward; two wings of every one were joined one to another, and two covered their bodies.

(Ezekiel 1:5-11) KJV

We’re going to use the Cherubim as a case study of the benefit of using spherogenetic systematics as a deductive tool. According to scripture Cherubim have mostly mammalian, not reptilian, characteristics.

Spherogenetic Systematics

So that the fishes of the sea, and the fowls of the heaven, and the beasts of the field, and all creeping things that creep upon the earth, and all the men that are upon the face of the earth, shall shake at my presence, and the mountains shall be thrown down, and the steep places shall fall, and every wall shall fall to the ground.

(Ezekiel 38:20) KJV

In the book of Jonah it’s said that the Lord prepared a great fish to swallow up Jonah. In the book of Matthew, Jesus describes Jonah spending three days and three nights in the belly of a whale. Is this a problem?

Carl Linnaeus

Consider the lilies, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin; and yet I say to you, even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.

(Luke 12:27) NKJV

The classification of plants animals and minerals is called taxonomy or systematics. Our scientific background is plant systematics. The modern age of systematics is based on comparing DNA sequences.

Enmity

And when the dragon saw that he was cast unto the earth, he persecuted the woman which brought forth the man child.

(Revelation 12:13) KJV

The whole of the narrative of Revelation 12 centers on the enmity, or hatred, between Satan, the dragon, and the woman. If we apply the relationship of cause and effect we can again place this event after the fall of man.
