The Curse on Women

And there appeared a great wonder in heaven; a woman clothed with the sun, and the moon under her feet, and upon her head a crown of twelve stars: And she being with child cried, travailing in birth, and pained to be delivered. And there appeared another wonder in heaven; and behold a great red dragon, having seven heads and ten horns, and seven crowns upon his heads. And his tail drew the third part of the stars of heaven, and did cast them to the earth: and the dragon stood before the woman which was ready to be delivered, for to devour her child as soon as it was born. And she brought forth a man child, who was to rule all nations with a rod of iron: and her child was caught up unto God, and to his throne. And the woman fled into the wilderness, where she hath a place prepared of God, that they should feed her there a thousand two hundred and threescore days.

(Revelation 12:1-6) KJV

Revelation chapter 12 includes a fascinating description of an event in the heavens. Is it real, or is it a metaphor for something? Is it a prophecy about the future, or is it a historical event?

Male Authority

But I want you to know that the head of every man is Christ, the head of woman is man, and the head of Christ is God.

(1 Corinthians 11:3) NKJV

Wives, submit to your own husbands, as to the Lord.

(Ephesians 5:22) NKJV

Is women submitting themselves to their husbands a selling point for Christianity? Does Christianity need to be sold? How about the dominance of male authority? What if there are no men?

I Will Greatly Multiply Your Sorrow

Unto the woman he said, I will greatly multiply thy sorrow and thy conception; in sorrow thou shalt bring forth children; and thy desire shall be to thy husband, and he shall rule over thee.

(Genesis 3:16) KJV

On July 2 we proposed that the curse on Eve to have painful labor in childbirth meant that Revelation chapter 12, the war in heaven, had to have happened after the fall of man.

Help can be Active or Passive

So Philip ran to him, and heard him reading the prophet Isaiah, and said, “Do you understand what you are reading?”

And he said, “How can I, unless someone guides me?” And he asked Philip to come up and sit with him.

(Acts 8:30-31) NKJV

If we had to fix a car what would be the best kind of help? A grease monkey would be helpful, sure, someone to hand us tools and hold the drop light. It would also be helpful to have a supervisor, someone who had experience fixing cars who could show us what to do. Both are help, one is active, the other is passive.

A Woman Clothed with the Sun

Now a great sign appeared in heaven: a woman clothed with the sun, with the moon under her feet, and on her head a garland of twelve stars.

(Revelation 12:1) NKJV

We’ve proposed that women were created in heaven, the firmasphere, on the 4th day. God already knew that she would be the template for the companion of the man who he would create from the dust of the Earth, the biosphere, on the 6th day. Removing one of Adam’s chromosomes was necessary to ensure biological compatibility between the two entities, but why? What was the point?

Labor Pains

Unto the woman he said, I will greatly multiply thy sorrow and thy conception; in sorrow thou shalt bring forth children; and thy desire shall be to thy husband, and he shall rule over thee.

(Genesis 3:16) KJV

We (that’s me and the Holy spirit) only know what we’ve been told, but everything that we’ve been told has been given us for a reason. We may ask: what does a prophetic vision of a war in heaven have to do with events on the Earth?

Women are from Heaven

Now a great sign appeared in heaven: a woman clothed with the sun, with the moon under her feet, and on her head a garland of twelve stars.

(Revelation 12:1) NKJV

Given that creation took six days at the end of which God stopped creating, and given that his creative process moved sequentially from sphere to sphere (firmasphere > hydrosphere and atmosphere > biosphere) we can conclude that the creating was completed in each sphere before proceeding to the next.

Men are from Earth

And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living being.

(Genesis 2:7) NKJV

God couldn’t find a suitable helper from among the beasts of the Earth and he didn’t think that making a compatible mate out of dust was sufficient. Why not? We may never understand the true significance of what the Lord is trying to tell us here, but we’ll give it a shot.

July 6th

Make Ready, Prepare For

Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels:

(Matthew 25:41) KJV

Hell had previously been prepared for Satan and the rebellious angels who were cast out of heaven, but hell began at the fall of man. This means that it’s impossible for Satan to have been in the garden of Eden to beguile Eve.

Travailing in Birth

Now a great sign appeared in heaven: a woman clothed with the sun, with the moon under her feet, and on her head a garland of twelve stars. Then being with child, she cried out in labor and in pain to give birth.

(Revelation 12:1-2) NKJV

If we (that’s me and the Holy spirit) compare the Bible with itself and eliminate interpretations which cause conflict between passages, we’re left with a logical sequence of events and facts.
