Coming Down Out of Heaven

And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.

(Revelation 21:2) KJV

When the new Jerusalem comes down from God out of heaven, the Earth will be gone. What does the new Jerusalem come down to? What can we deduce about the new Earth of Revelation 21?

What we know about up and down is that heaven is above and hell is below. This has been a prevailing theme throughout scripture. What we find when we get to the end of time is that up and down remain the same, but heaven comes down.

Since heaven and hell don’t occupy the same space, the logical conclusion is that hell goes up or, in this case, we’ll see that the designation becomes out. It’s not a minor point that up and down maintain their orientation. That orientation is provided by the gravitational singularity which God created on the second day. This is referred to throughout scripture as the foundation of the earth.

Who laid the foundations of the earth, that it should not be removed for ever.

(Psalms 104:5) KJV

The gravitational singularity won’t be removed, ever. Gravity stabilizes time. The creation of a gravitational singularity is God’s commitment to the linear passage of time in which we experience life.

Present Day

And they that be wise shall shine as the brightness of the firmament; and they that turn many to righteousness as the stars for ever and ever.

(Daniel 12:3) KJV

Presently the remote regions of the cosmos are illuminated by the brightly shining firmament, also referred to as a sea of glass. The center of creation is dark, it’s the accumulated mass of corruption at the core of the Earth, hell. Our dispensation, the church age, is finite and eventually the process of refining creation will be finished. That’s when the impurity and corruption which accumulated around the singularity will be cast into the lake of fire in outer darkness.

• Question: At this time there’s not an outer darkness, so how do we get to that?

New Heaven and New Earth

And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea.

(Revelation 21:1) KJV

• Answer: the new Jerusalem comes down out of heaven, prepared as a bride for her husband, and death and hell are cast into outer darkness. Light and darkness trade places.

Quite a few people have worked on artistic impressions of what this may look like so we have a lot to work with.

This can’t be the case because we have been told that earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them. The new Earth in Revelation 21 isn’t simply a fixer-upper version of the old Earth. It’s something completely new.

It’s ironic because not only does this article fail to make a case for heliocentricity, but it’s by far the most widely referred to “proof” of heliocentricity.

What is this new Earth? Where did it come from and what is it made of? Can we find out?
