Science Falsely So Called

O Timothy, keep that which is committed to thy trust, avoiding profane and vain babblings, and oppositions of science falsely so called: Which some professing have erred concerning the faith. Grace be with thee. Amen. {The first to Timothy was written from Laodicea, which is the chiefest city of Phrygia Pacatiana.

We (that’s me and the Holy spirit) have identified 5 leaps of faith in the theoretical foundation of popular science (SciPop). They’re used as axioms. but they’re inductive rationalizations of circumstantial evidence.

If God testifies that “science falsely so called” is a bad thing, then logically it means that “science” is also a thing. In which case, science is that which may be known about the one true God, as manifested in creation. As such, a commonly used definition of science is accurate, although it’s misapplied when it’s used to refer to SciPop.

Science : the state of knowing: knowledge as distinguished from ignorance or misunderstanding.

The Apostle Paul was well aware that under the guise of science, which is believed to be synonymous with wisdom and knowledge, people would try to weaken scriptural doctrine and destroy the church. This is why we need to know what’s science and what’s science falsely so called.

1. Science will enhance and deepen our understanding of God and his creation.
2. Science falsely so called appears to be knowledge but it isn’t true.
   • the popular science narrative of godless existence (the lie)
   • the scientific method (a strong delusion).

Parsing the difference between science and SciPop requires knowledge of the subject matter which isn’t common these days. Here’s a typical Twitter exchange:

• Matty: How do you calculate the mass of the sun?
• SciPop Dude: Science dumbass.

The SciPop Dude thinks that they answered the question, but all they did was demonstrate their superficial knowledge of the subject matter. A more subtle example of this, which has had a profound impact, is the way that the theory of evolution has been used to divide between the science and faith communities.

It’s a case of misdirection. The problem isn’t evolution. Evolution is an extensively documented process of genetic change over time. Denying it’s what makes Christians look like idiots. The nuance here is that the process of evolution (devolution) began AFTER the fall of man in Genesis 3, it’s not the origin of life. Evolution is the process by which the animals saved on Noah’s ark gave rise to current biodiversity. What you believe about the role of evolution in the development of biodiversity is based on your choice of paradigm. As a result, whatever you believe is a leap of faith.

SciPop is an idol that people worship because they’ve been told that it’s solved silly problems like God. They are SciPop worshipers. We’ll go a step further and say that they are scientifically illiterate science worshipers (SISW). They’re the ideological progeny of the likes of Richard Dawkins, Bill Nye and Neil DeGrasse Tyson. They worship Dawkins/Nye/Tyson Science. DNT Science. SciPop. Science falsely so-called.

*The age of the universe is less divisive than you may think. Theologically conservative Christians believe that the Earth is about 6,000 years old, whereas the popular science narrative of godless existence (SciPop) puts the age of the Earth at about 4.6 billion years and the age of the cosmos to be about 13.8 billion years. This is going to really bake your noodle, but in Matty’s Paradigm both can be true: the earth is 6,000 years old AND the outer regions of the cosmos may be as much as 13.8 billion years old at the same time. This is due to a phenomenon called gravitational time dilation (GDE) and we call it Matty’s Paradox.
