Spreads, Stretches, Stretched

God created the heavens and stretched them out;
he fashioned the earth and all that lives there;
he gave life and breath to all its people.
And now the Lord God says to his servant,
“I, the Lord, have called you and given you power
to see that justice is done on earth.
Through you I will make a covenant with all peoples;
through you I will bring light to the nations.
You will open the eyes of the blind
and set free those who sit in dark prisons.

(Isaiah 42:5-6) Good News Translation

Earth is down and the sky is up. Hell is below, heaven is above. Whatever happened on the second day has to create the orientation necessary for the formation of heaven and hell.

Then God commanded, “Let there be a dome to divide the water and to keep it in two separate places”—and it was done. So God made a dome, and it separated the water under it from the water above it. He named the dome “Sky.” Evening passed and morning came—that was the second day.

(Genesis 1:6-8) Good News Translation

The word “sky” in the Good News Translation is rendered in most other places as “heavens” and in strictly literal translations it’s rendered as “firmament.” The closer we get to understanding the physics of creation, the closer we get to the meaning of the Hebrew word “raqia” which we discuss tomorrow, February 15. The firmament is called heaven but we find that it’s specifically the third heaven and we lay out the scriptural basis for this on February 16. The third heaven then, has to be the thing which separates the waters above from the waters below. The creation of gravity is the mechanism which brings this about.

We all have the same evidence. Our choice of paradigm determines what we think it’s evidence of.

Matty’s Razor

Heaven and hell aren’t spiritual concepts, they’re physical places. Not only that but they’re part of the purpose of creation which is a process of purification and refinement, as pictured for us in the spiritual concepts of baptism, cleansing and regeneration. As such, the Earth’s form fits its function in the process of dividing the waters above from the waters below because it allows two things to happen.

  1. Firstly, above what? since the deep was a formless mass on the first day.
    • A physical barrier had to be constructed to divide the waters because there was nothing there before.
    • The firmament had to precipitate out of solution and crystalize.
  2. Secondly, under and above tells us that now the universe has an orientation.
    • An ordering has taken place.
    • A gravitational singularity was created at a point in the deep.
    • By the end of the second day there’s an up, a down and something in the midst.

Faith is believing in something that you can’t see, because of evidence.

– Faith, definition

A point was selected at the center of the deep. This is the location of a gravitational singularity which the Bible refers to as the foundation of the earth. Our metaphorical compass drew a line at the radius where the firmament formed. God stretched out the heavens and established the foundations of the earth simultaneously. These two events are causally linked and we discuss it in the post synchronicity.

The heavens were physically spread out as a layer of crystalline compounds precipitated in a sphere on the edge of space. You’re probably skeptical, which is understandable, but there’s empirical evidence of the firmament. Not only that, but we have ample theoretical evidence of the firmament. There was water above it, but the crystallization process drew the non-water atoms and molecules out of it.

Salvation

  1. Call upon the name of Jesus Christ,
    • believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead,
  2. confess your sin.

Bible Immersion

No one helped God spread out the heavens
or trample the sea monster’s back.

(Job 9:8) Good News Translation

The construction of the firmament is pictured in the passages of scripture which describe how the Lord spread out, or stretched out the heavens. Now, since we repeatedly hear preachers talk about how Bible immersion, or lack thereof, has a direct effect on how likely someone is to share their faith, we’ll look at some scripture passages which describe the process of how and when a crystalline firmament was spread out. It’s fascinating to see the context of these passages. This is to help you get used to having the Word of God enter your eyes, flow through your mind, and connect with whatever the Holy spirit wants to teach you.

It was made by the one who sits on his throne
above the earth and beyond the sky;
the people below look as tiny as ants.
He stretched out the sky like a curtain,
like a tent in which to live.

(Isaiah 40:22) Good News Translation

“I am the Lord, your savior;
I am the one who created you.
I am the Lord, the Creator of all things.
I alone stretched out the heavens;
when I made the earth, no one helped me.
I make fools of fortunetellers
and frustrate the predictions of astrologers.
The words of the wise I refute
and show that their wisdom is foolishness.

(Isaiah 44:24-25) Good News Translation

I am the one who made the earth
and created human beings to live there.
By my power I stretched out the heavens;
I control the sun, the moon, and the stars.

(Isaiah 45:12) Good News Translation

Have you forgotten the Lord who made you,
who stretched out the heavens
and laid the earth’s foundations?
Why should you live in constant fear
of the fury of those who oppress you,
of those who are ready to destroy you?
Their fury can no longer touch you.

(Isaiah 51:13) Good News Translation

The Lord made the earth by his power;
by his wisdom he created the world
and stretched out the heavens.
At his command the waters above the sky roar;
he brings clouds from the ends of the earth.
He makes lightning flash in the rain
and sends the wind from his storeroom.

(Jeremiah 10:12-13 and 51:15-16) Good News Translation

This is a message about Israel from the Lord, the Lord who spread out the skies, created the earth, and gave life to man. He says,

(Zechariah 12:1) Good News Translation

The reason for creation is the manifestation of sentient life with free will.

The creation of heaven was a process which produced something solid. We’ll look at the meaning of the Hebrew word translated as firmament tomorrow, to see if it bears out this conclusion.
