He bowed the heavens and came down;(Psalms 18:9-12 & 2 Samuel 22:10-13) English Standard Version
thick darkness was under his feet.
He rode on a cherub and flew;
he came swiftly on the wings of the wind.
He made darkness his covering, his canopy around him,
thick clouds dark with water.
Out of the brightness before him
hailstones and coals of fire broke through his clouds.
We have to account for a passage in Psalm 18 where the Bible tells us that God is in both 1) thick darkness and 2) has brightness before Him, at the same time and in the same context.

For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine, but according to their own desires, because they have itching ears, they will heap up for themselves teachers; and they will turn their ears away from the truth, and be turned aside to fables.(2 Timothy 4:3-4) NKJV
Dark matter doesn’t exist outside the popular science paradigm (SciPop). It’s not a fact. Its existence is desired because the alternative is a firmament on the edge of space which isn’t compatible with the narrative.

I clothe the heavens with blackness, and I make sackcloth their covering.(Isaiah 50:3) KJV
There’s no evidence for dark matter. It’s a placeholder term for a gap in the knowledge base of the popular science narrative of godless existence (SciPop). It’s a contrivance.

And I looked, and there in the firmament that was above the head of the cherubim, there appeared something like a sapphire stone, having the appearance of the likeness of a throne.(Ezekiel 10:1) NKJV
The Hebrew word translated firmament is raqia. Some people struggle to interpret the firmament, most don’t bother. A simple definition is expanse so most translations render the meaning as “the expanse of the sky.”

The sun also rises, and the sun goes down, And hastens to the place where it arose.(Ecclesiastes 1:5) NKJV
Occam’s razor is used to reject something which we look at everyday in favor of something which no one has ever seen.

There is one glory of the sun, and another glory of the moon, and another glory of the stars; for star differs from star in glory.(1 Corinthians 15:41) ESV
We can take the experimental confirmation of Einstein’s prediction of gravitational lensing to deduce that the sun is a source of gravity.

Circles of Life
The heavens declare the glory of God, and the sky above proclaims his handiwork. Day to day pours out speech, and night to night reveals knowledge. There is no speech, nor are there words, whose voice is not heard. Their voice goes out through all the earth, and their words to the end of the world. In them he has set a tent for the sun, which comes out like a bridegroom leaving his chamber, and, like a strong man, runs its course with joy. Its rising is from the end of the heavens, and its circuit to the end of them, and there is nothing hidden from its heat.(Psalms 19:1-6) ESV
If the Earth is at the center of the universe, and the Sun orbits the Earth, then these bodies are the two foci of elliptical planetary orbits required by Kepler’s laws.

They fought from heaven; the stars in their courses fought against Sisera.(Judges 5:20) KJV
Consider this for a moment. If this passage from Judges is to be believed, and why wouldn’t we believe it since it’s in the Bible, the stars fought against Sisera. The stars really can’t do that if they’re distant suns and galaxies.

There is none like unto the God of Jeshurun, who rideth upon the heaven in thy help, and in his excellency on the sky.(Deuteronomy 33:26) KJV
It may seem sacrilegious to suggest that God rides on a cosmic surfboard, but it’s a conclusion which has been deduced. God and his agents may physically visit the Earth by riding on a piece of heaven.

He bowed the heavens also, and came down: and darkness was under his feet. And he rode upon a cherub, and did fly: yea, he did fly upon the wings of the wind. He made darkness his secret place; his pavilion round about him were dark waters and thick clouds of the skies. At the brightness that was before him his thick clouds passed, hail stones and coals of fire.(Psalms 18:9-12) KJV
He bowed the heavens also, and came down With darkness under His feet. He rode upon a cherub, and flew; And He was seen upon the wings of the wind. He made darkness canopies around Him, Dark waters and thick clouds of the skies. From the brightness before Him Coals of fire were kindled.(2 Samuel 22:10-13) NKJV
If heaven, the firmament, is a sphere of rigid crystal then we can resolve several passages of scripture which describe heaven, or pieces of heaven, as literally rigid crystalline structures.
