Wherefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and hope to the end for the grace that is to be brought unto you at the revelation of Jesus Christ;
(1 Peter 1:13)
There are no coincidences, there’s only the working of God’s will. This week I became debt free and I acquired a vehicle for use as a Uber driver which is a significant improvement upon the one I had, which, just for extra security, I still have. I’ve been established.
And let the beauty of the LORD our God be upon us: and establish thou the work of our hands upon us; yea, the work of our hands establish thou it.
(Psalm 90:17)
So six months after having been fired as a manager in a major University here I am, still blogging every day, preaching the word, in season and out of season:
Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine.
(1 Timothy 4:2)
If I ever wondered if I was really in the will of God then the wondering ought to be over. I’m doing what I’m supposed to do. Interesting isn’t it that this is the week when one of the YouTube menagerie should post a video supposedly destroying me. I think it was heaven-sent. I set out to do something so significant and profound that people simply would not be able to handle it. We are about to the end of the discussion of the creative phase of creation. In a few days we start discussing the decline and decay of creation. However, I have already made my point: there is a perfect reconciliation between the Bible and science. Not everyone is happy about it.
Unto you therefore which believe he is precious: but unto them which be disobedient, the stone which the builders disallowed, the same is made the head of the corner, And a stone of stumbling, and a rock of offence, even to them which stumble at the word, being disobedient: whereunto also they were appointed.
(1 Peter 2:7-8)
But this leads to glory:
For what glory is it, if, when ye be buffeted for your faults, ye shall take it patiently? but if, when ye do well, and suffer for it, ye take it patiently, this is acceptable with God.
(1 Peter 2:20)
The thing is, my mind is girded. It is not going to matter how many YouTube videos are posted about me.
But and if ye suffer for righteousness’ sake, happy are ye: and be not afraid of their terror, neither be troubled; But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear: Having a good conscience; that, whereas they speak evil of you, as of evildoers, they may be ashamed that falsely accuse your good conversation in Christ. For it is better, if the will of God be so, that ye suffer for well doing, than for evil doing.
(1 Peter 3:14-17)
In fact, the more the merrier. Besides, it’s just going to get worse:
Beloved, think it not strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened unto you: But rejoice, inasmuch as ye are partakers of Christ’s sufferings; that, when his glory shall be revealed, ye may be glad also with exceeding joy. If ye be reproached for the name of Christ, happy are ye; for the spirit of glory and of God resteth upon you: on their part he is evil spoken of, but on your part he is glorified.
(1 Peter 4:12-14)
Whatever awaits us here on Earth it is noting compared to what is coming, for good or bad:
For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God: and if it first begin at us, what shall the end be of them that obey not the gospel of God? And if the righteous scarcely be saved, where shall the ungodly and the sinner appear? Wherefore let them that suffer according to the will of God commit the keeping of their souls to him in well doing, as unto a faithful Creator.
(1 Peter 4:17-19)
God has got everything under control. Don’t sweat it. Today’s image is from here.
